(CNN) -- Space Shuttle Discovery is gearing up for a Friday launch after bad weather, gas leaks and electrical glitches forced repeated delays.

Shuttle managers were fueling the shuttle's external tank in preparation for a 3:04 p.m. ET launch, NASA said early Friday.

They'll load the tank with more than 500,000 gallons of liquid forms of oxygen and hydrogen.

There's a 70 percent chance of favorable weather for the launch, NASA said.

On Thursday, bad weather forced Discovery to delay its liftoff to the international space station by at least a day.

It was the latest in a series of delays for the 39^th and final voyage for Discovery, the agency's oldest shuttle.

CAPE CANAVERAL - NASA again scrubbed the launch of space shuttle Discovery early today because of a potentially dangerous leak of hydrogen gas – a delay that may push the supply mission to the International Space Station into next month.

Hydrogen fuel began leaking early Friday morning, midway through the fueling process. NASA says it's the same type of problem that caused lengthy delays for two shuttle missions in 2009.

NASA internal e-mails said engineers are trying to fix the leak for a launch attempt on Sunday, but said that they could try Monday at the close of the launch window.

Discovery's final mission is already running four days late because of technical and weather problems.

Until now, NASA had said the agency needed to launch Discovery by Sunday or delay the launch until Dec. 1. However, mission managers now say there was a chance that they may be able to complete the mission if they can launch by Monday.

After that, NASA would have to wait a month because the angle of the sun on the space station for the rest of the month is such that the shuttle would get too hot for docked operations.

DEVELOPING: The sprawling NASA Glenn Research Center next to the Cleveland airport is under lockdown amid a report of a possible gunman.

Spokeswoman Sally Harrington wouldn't say whether police were checking for a gunman but says the complex was placed under "complete lockdown" Friday morning.

NASA Glenn is located at the edge of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport along the Cleveland-Brook Park border.

Brook Park police withheld details on how they were handling the situation. Cleveland police said they weren't involved.

An airport spokewoman says its operations are unaffected.

NASA Glenn is named after Ohio-born astronaut John Glenn and has more than 3,400 employees and contract workers. It recently developed key components of a new moon rocket.
