The overall poverty rate, defined as $22,314 for a family of four and $11,139 for a single person, climbed to 15.1 percent, or 46.2 million, up from 14.3 percent in 2009. The poverty rate in Georgia increased to 18.7 percent in 2010, up from 18.4 percent the year before, according to the Census data. A total of 1.83 million Georgians fell below the poverty line in 2010, an increase of about 60,000 from the year before. I made that much in high school. How do people live off that and why don't they find something else to do? That always amazes the hell out of me...

They are lazy bastards with no drive and/or ambition. They lack the desire to have more because they are satisfied with the status quo. If they are living in what the Gov. says is poverty then they are probably supplemented in some fashion, food stamps, medical, etc.

All the people that are out of work right now because of the economy are not included in that post, I wasn't referring to them at all. I have compassion for them.

I have taken a substantial pay cut the last two years, especially if you count loss of pay and increased insurance costs. I still don't live in poverty. I live within my means, so it wasn't that big of a deal. Annoying, and I travel less, but not life-changing.
Never live off exactly what you make. That isn't smart. Shit happens. Just because they will finance you doesn't mean you should buy it. I think a lot of retarded people, not just poor ones, live paycheck to paycheck. Now they can't afford what they have and they will lose all the money they invested in it.

In forty years the population would be much lower and all idiots would be smart idiots. Really dumb people are cute so long as you don't have to deal with them such as when you're out in public or on the roads. Here's another idea. Build stupid traps on the highways. You know; something only dumbasses would fall for. There was a place in northern California that didn't have room for a standard exit from a highway so they built a tight one with a steep bank. As long as people didn't go over 80 MPH it was like being on a roller coaster. In the winter they had to put up minimum speed limit 40 signs because if it was icy the cars would just slip down to the center and pile up. Most people couldn't do it so it had to be closed the first winter. If this thing had a funnel on the inside with a big drop then you could save a million bucks all day long.
