Can we start with castration?

Ramos had the child pinned down in the aisle and was sexually assaulting her when he was spotted by the grandmother, police said. The child's pants and diaper had been removed and she was being straddled Ramos, who had pulled down his pants and underwear, police said.

He pulled up his pants and fled the store while being chased by the girl's grandmother and aunt, police said.

Men outside the store restrained Ramos until a BART police officer was flagged down and took him into custody.

The girl was treated and released from Children's Hospital Oakland with minor injuries.

I can't believe this guy is not dead.
Chemical Castration for sure. He should be locked up in a home and not able to be in society. Those that have no sense of right and wrong and no sense of consequence.
I can't wrap my mind around it-what is their purpose? How do they live?

Some pedophiles choose that option.

But, being that it's non-reversible, I think making surgical castration mandatory for repeat offenders in this country would likely be ruled legally unconstitutional (on a couple of fronts, one of them being 'cruel and unusual' punishment).

They lose any rights as human beings when they commit this crime. Recidivism is through the roof with pedophiles, temporary measures aren't good enough. Personally, I'd be fine with the death penalty.

Pedophiles cannot be rehabilitated, they prove that to us over & over again. They have a blown fuse somewhere and there is a disconnect.

I've heard that when they are imprisoned, they are locked up with their own kind, they can't be confined within the general population.

I understand your feelings and imagine more people than not share them.

I just don't think mandatory surgical castration or execution for child molestation/rape crimes would pass constitutional muster in the courts, though I personally wouldn't shed any tears if a child rapist was killed or surgically castrated.

Even murder doesn't justify the death penalty under U.S. law, unless there are aggravating factors (one of them being that the murder victim is a child).

Anyway, I support monitored/verified chemical castration.  It's better than relying on 'never again' assurances from repeat offenders and their psychologists and can help would-be child molesters/rapists who never want to act on their urges from doing so.

Someday in the future there will be "pain" chips embedded in perps brains when the right "neurons" are energized. I thought Micheal Jackson was chemically castrated by his father to be able to hit the high notes for longer.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.
