I know Wininebago's get 6 miles a gallon, buses get about 12 and am not sure what a trailer gets. But I've always thought a bus would make a good house on wheels.

I don't mind using the outdoors as a toilet when camping, and we did have a squat-and-go traditional floor urinal at the first company I worked for in Japan (which was really weird for me, at first). But, I consider a proper western toilet (with a door) a must-have for permanent living quarters. I'm tame, I guess.

I want to live in a tiny house. I wonder where I would put all of my clothes. I could have several of them, one for a closet, one for the dining area and kitchen and one for my beadroom. Does that defeat the purpose of having 1 tiny house?

I think I could make it work. I have a lot of clothes too, as well as footwear. I never pack anything away for the season so right off the bat I would do that and given it would only be me I'd use the extra loft bedroom as a closet.

As a person who actually lived in super tiny housing for about 3 years, I always laugh at these tv shows where they do stupid shit in order to look cool for tv but which would have no practical use in a real living situation. The three main and overwhelming concerns of a tiny house are space, weight, and function. All three drastically affect each other in ways you can't begin to understand until you actually live in it day-to-day. You have to factor in every ounce or your home will simply be too heavy to move. On top of that, every single item you use takes up valuable space, so every single item must serve multiple purposes and functions. To an extreme. Like basic soap that serves as dish, laundry and even bath soap. Or lightweight tin dishes that are cook and eat functional. And in the old days, it even meant choosing a smaller but multifunction tv/vcr setup. Thank god for flatscreen/ streaming technology, books were a lixury of space I had to forego.
I saw this show where the guy wanted a full size table with a big bed as well. So they designed this contraption to move and hide his mattress behind the stove. Every day. Like no one ever heard of split cushions. I had to laugh and then explain to my GF why that setup was a joke... The only thing good about tiny house living is it teaches you to strip down your excesses.
Thank god I am oblivious to the opinions of others while caught in the blinding splendor of my own cleverness.

I'm not concerned with weight. I don't intend to travel with it. I'm parking that puppy in a secluded area & staying put. When I consider my little fantasy one of my concerns is a composting toilet.

Aside from travel perks I don't think I'd want a super tiny house. Couple rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom: nothing fancy or huge but I wouldn't want to be crammed into one space all the time. And space between me and the neighbors.

I have been "The Room Mate" for just over a year, I have the back bedroom and its just big enough for a queen size bed with a book case headboard, there is 1 foot between the foot of the bed and my TV cabinet, that's it. The closet is small but its ok for now. I have had my own home all my life since I was 21, so this has been somewhat traumatic for me.
On one hand though its been a relief with no responsibility for the house or yard, I do help tho. I like the idea of the tiny houses but only as a guest house in the back yard, or as a hunting camp setup. All things considered though I would more likely choose an older Airstream trailer, someone with a brain actually sat down and thought these things out. All that said I am looking at houses in Dallas in the 2000 sf range open plan.

I feel ya, before this current living situation I opted to do boarding house room rental until I sorted out what I wanted. It was a first for me, and I also liked the freedom from chores, but the forced sharing of space with strangers wore thin.
