purely speculation on my part..if in fact the killers brought the tape, but not the bags, that says to me they only planned on binding the victims while they tore up the house looking for the alleged "safe". and when things got out of control, they used the bags they found in the house to kill them. i never, and you can look back to the beginning, thought that they came with the intent to murder.

I absolutely believe that to be true as well. Things got out of hand and Lisa fought lilke hell I can tell you that!!!!! They probably were not expecting Johnny and Lisa to be that strong!!

Maybe they had the duct tape in the car for other reasons. If it was someone with a construction job or possibly the "white van" that "unknown" had mentioned early on.....

Ah, excellent point! I do not travel with duct tape but a repair van or a service man might very well always have a roll at hand.

Well, naturally they would have went after Johnny first. Possibly Lisa got a weapon to fight them off of Johnny (possibly a knife) and they then attacked her thinking they killed her then had to kill Johnny to then set the rest up? Just another theory... The gargage entrance has been said to lead right into the kitchen..

I have thought this as well, from the beginning and as my theory said that I posted. However my suspects were TW and Mr. Z and I'm not so sure of them anymore.

Unless TW and Mr. Z have left the city, sounds to me like LE has fully cleared them.

One the other hand ... I also wonder if the person(s) involved or someone who was indirectly involved is starting to show any physical aspects of the stress/pressure they must be under. Lack of sleep, Weight loss, Excessiv drinking etc....

other than the weight loss, this thread is causing me the same signs and symptoms. (lack of sleep, excessive drinking)

I would imagine that the personality it took to pull this off is psychotic/psychopathic and may show very little remorse or physical manifestations of anything resembling remorse. And if the perps keep it amongst themselves and never get picked up and have their DNA banked for any other crime, they may very well never get caught.

one thing that struck me as odd though....in maytee's 911 call when she was on her way to the house she said something to the effect of "i think that's the street...yes, longacre turn here", well the street sign is blocked by a tree and hard to see from the direction that they would be coming from. it makes it seem as she had indeed been there before otherwise they would have missed the street.

add that with the fact she has seen the key used many times

That always struck me as odd because she was not welcome there. So how did she see it being used often??? Was she over there when the parents were not home. giving something to Johnny?????

If the rents didn't welcome her, that's the only explanation available.

family is true) Something tells me that if I knew who the DNA
belonged to, I would not tell any family member.....

True but they could have paranoid tendancies. Also. They had to have been covered in blood themselves. I imagine they didnt expect the victims to be found right away. Might have thought a few days with the parents being out of town and all. I also keep thinking the main street to the Straubs would be from Airport hwy. There are alot of convienent stores and gas stations along that way. Also businesses and such. I wonder if LE questioned employees of these establishments. I would think so.

Kitty Kat, what leads you to believe Lisa fought like hell? Surely there is evidence, too, that Johnny fought like hell? Also what can you tell us about a working theory involving how you bag and tie someone (two someones) who are struggling? Were they knocked out?

There is evidence that Lisa fought but I know of none on Johnny. I think the perps subdued Johnny quickly probably with a gun. I think they tied him up first so he was essential immobilized. they next got Lisa because there is evidence that she was not in that same room when perps arrived. I think Johnny yelled to her upstairs and she was prepared to attack whether they had a gun or not. If someone had a gun at my head I would think they may shoot me so I'm gonna fight like hell.

Wow very interesting. My money would have been on both fighting like hell but if Johnny was subdued first, that would have precluded him being able to defend himself. My first thought would be to find a room that has a lock on it but the perps would have broken the door down to get her but if she had her cell phone on her she could have at least called 911.

I think "I" meant the investigator. Like if the investigation came up with a hit on DNA the family may not be told. Only if an arrest was imminent.

Now that makes sense. The perps strike her in the head and she goes down and the perps assume they have killed or; to finish her off and make certain they bag and tape the bag down around her neck and then do the same to Johnny for good measure since they do not want to be identified and this has gotten out of hand.
