I personally knew Lisa very well. Her boyfriend was involved in dealing drugs. This does not mean he deserved to be violently murdered. Does the motive for the murder have anything to do with drugs or drug money? No one knows. It is a very real possibility, but not guaranteed, and all leads are obviously being investigated.

ok...more from the local "rumor mill"...remember Toledo is a small town... JC's dad was into drugs, selling and using. he was involved in a drug deal over the summer that "went bad" and a CI was seriously injuried because of it.

also... emailing/posting/texting etc. leaves the tone out of what would have been said... so if I said "what are you doing here?" there's no tone in that. I could have said "what are YOU doing here?" or "what are you doing HERE?" ...those mean different things depending on what word you put the emphasis. so in all this...we don't know what his tone was. (I hope this makes sense)... if I say "who are you?" is completley different than "WHO are you?" or "who are YOU?". so either way, if such a conversation was overheard, then it would make total sense that he might have known the suspects and not expected them at the Straub house...or maybe he knew one of the people and there were more than one... etc etc.

I'm hearing from some people locally that the house wasn't ransacked...but that it did look like there had been a struggle... ransacked may have been just an easy way for people to describe the scene..who knows.

While trolling around the Lucas County Sheriff's website and just thought I'd check sex offenders and guess what??? Within one mile of that house there are 4 sex offenders living at the same address!! Check it out...that's creepy!

Within 1 mile, I Googled it:

6201 Garden Rd, Maumee, OH 43537

Distance: 1.5 miles, but it's closer because on the Lucas county website it puts this address within 1 mile of the Longacre Ln address.

This was just another avenue to look down and a creepy one at that...

I am sure they checked out these sex offenders, but they did say there were pants or something around Lisa's neck? Right or was I reading something else?

Family of Springfield Twp. murder victim sets up reward fund

The family of Lisa Straub on Wednesday set up a fund at Fifth Third Bank where donations may be made toward a reward for information leading to the arrest of the people responsible for the murder of her and her boyfriend.

Miss Straub, 20, and Johnny S. Clarke, 21, were found asphyxiated with plastic bags over their heads in the Straubs' Longacre Lane home in Springfield Township Jan. 31. Investigators say they believe the two were killed in a robbery attempt at the home.

Straub family spokesman Jim Verbosky, Miss Straub's uncle, said her funeral was held Wednesday morning at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church. He said a number of people have contacted the family wanting to make donations toward a reward in the case so the family has set up the “Lisa Straub Benefit Fund.” Donations may be made at any Fifth Third Bank branch.

Visitation for Clarke will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home where a memorial service is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday.

IMO, because of Tiffany's story about the strangers confronting Johnny, not being able to reach Johnny or Tiffany, and, again IMO, because she knew the kind of people Johnny was involved with.
