Again, it makes no difference as CCA will benefit if SB-1070 is implemented while the federal contracts are in force. Not in the manner that Elvira had in mind, I suppose, but it's a benefit resulting from SB-1070 nonetheless, as it would result in an increase in CCA's inmate population. Now if you want to assert that Arizona won't turn illegals over to ICE because the Feds won't deport them, fine, but prove it. Only fair as you asked me to, right?

GA now says, "Fuck You Obama!"
Our new governor just signed the immigration bill here because the feds aren't protecting our borders. Fuck you, Obama.

It's not like Bush (two terms) didn't have the opportunity to support or institute a similar bill (nor was he faced with a similar bill as President). Kind of slimey to introduce the bill during Obama's presidency and then make him out to be a devil for not 100% supporting it. Why didn't Bush push through this type of immigration reform when he was President? Oh, because he would have further eroded his support from the Hispanic population. But Obama should be immune to that. Fucking hypocrites. Commando Cunt Queen

Once again username you have your shit all messed in with reality, who was the president when the fence was approved?
who is the president when the funding for the fence was cut?

And last I heard, the fence was built, the border patrol guards have been doubled at least (actually, last I heard Obama said everything Bush had proposed was done plus some and he was wondering if there would be further requests to add a moat and alligators--check his speech in Texas earlier this week and please feel free to point out where he lied...). Shame on you for accusing Obama of being a politician like all the rest. Commando Cunt Queen

The fence username, the fence.
obviously Bush supported closing the door, since you're speculating on what Bush would have done, how about saying what Obama did do. The fence was defunded by the democrats. The republicans are pushing for border security, obama is dodging, like usual.

The fence is a stupid fuckin' idea. Jesus Christ. Enforce the laws we have & stop wasting money & resources...or better yet, close the damn doors and don't let anyone else in. This is my home too and I'm not feeling too fuckin' gracious & welcoming.

You know you are going to have to pull yourself out of Obama's ass when he hits the campaign trail, right? Oh, and you should check before you call someone a hypocrite: "Former President Bush supported comprehensive immigration reform. Some of his proposals included: resolve the status of the millions of illegal immigrants already in the United States, encourage illegal immigrants to assimilate to the U.S. and learn English, enhance border security, introduce a temporary guest worker program, and penalize employers for willingly hiring illegal immigrants. Bush also believed that in order for the immigration problem to be solved, all these issues must be dealt with simultaneously. The Bush administration did make progress in enhance border security. For example, border security funding increased from nearly $5 billion in 2001 to over $10 billion in 2007. The number of border patrol agents has also increased from 9,000 to almost 15,000 during the same time span. By the end of next year, there should be approximately 18,000 border patrol agents. Six-thousand National Guard troops have been called to temporarily assist the Border Patrol with such duties as intelligence analysis and improving infrastructure and patrol roads. In addition, investments in more advanced border technology continue. The increase of availability of detention beds has reduced the “catch and release” policy previously employed due to the shortage of beds. Now, however, more illegal immigrants can now be detained. Other changes include increased deportations of illegal immigrants (especially those with criminal backgrounds) due to a quicker “expedited removal” process. In addition, there is now greater cooperation among local and state local law enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security to prevent illegal immigration. Former President Bush's Proposed Immigration Legislation On June 29th the United States Senate squashed the proposed comprehensive immigration legislation, ending chances for President George W. Bush to pass his immigration reform plan--a centerpiece of the president's domestic agenda. Immigration reform supporters garnered just 46 of the 60 votes needed to conclude debate and proceed to final passage. Sixty senators, including 37 of Bush's fellow Republicans, voted against it. Most senators said they had no plans to try to overhaul immigration law before the 2008 presidential election, so it is unlikely that any major immigration bill will become law until 2009. The biggest obstacle was to convince conservatives that the path to citizenship for illegal aliens is not Amnesty. The bill's bitter end has a deeper meaning, as it demonstrated that conservative Americans’ vision for US immigration reform should not include any type of amnesty or legalization for undocumented workers. "This vote effectively kills comprehensive immigration legislation in the 110th Congress" - said Democratic Representative Zoe Lofgren, head of a House Judiciary subcommittee on immigration. The measure, the biggest rewrite of U.S. immigration law since 1986, would offer 12 to 20 million illegal immigrants a path to citizenship while tightening the border with Mexico and creating a guest-worker program to help employers fill low-paying jobs. President Bush, who had lobbied Republican senators to support the legislation, acknowledged defeat, saying that - "Congress's failure to act on it is a disappointment." The Bush administration is still interested in finding the solution to the problem of illegal immigration, said Michael Chertoff, Bush's homeland security secretary who helped draft the legislation."

A fence along the border is a good idea, you don't think the illegals just come in thru the ports of entry do you?
The simple fact is until something really hard gets put in place to deal with illegals where ever they are found, they will continue to come, we have laws but as usual our government just wants to ignore them. They tie the hands of LE so that they cannot inquire about citizenship, some states like our beloved california make sanctuary cities that the illegals can flock to in complete disregard of our laws, and then we give them free medical, free school, free food, lower than normal interest rates on loans, set them up in small businesses, and to top it off we give them drivers licenses the initial stepping stone to voting. in order to fix illegal immigration we have to fix our government first.
