Holly Bobo, 20, Tenn. missing. & Karen Swift

Before today, I wasn't sure whether Dylan had actually participated in assaulting Holly.

I'd hoped his involvement was limited to covering for his brother and that he was fully cooperating for a plea deal. But, looks like he's as bad as the rest of the pack. Fucker.

Dylan Adams ^ pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape against Holly Bobo today.

His bond was set at $25k. The DA, Stowe, asked for the max. But, the judge (McGinley) stated that he is going to treat the defendants in Holly's case the same as he does any other criminal defendants and that's the standard bond for simple rape.

The judge appointed Dylan a public defender, Maddox. He ordered that the DA hand over its case discovery to Maddox. McGinley said a motions hearing for the defendants in the Bobo case is scheduled for Dec. 17.

Outside the courtroom, the Adams family lived up (well, down) to its name. Second cousin of Dylan and Zach Adams, Moss Miller, attended the hearing and wanted to speak with media afterward.

Miller complained that the court, and even the community, has treated Dylan Adams and others in the case unfairly. He said he does not believe it is fair that the Bobos have reserved seating in the courtroom during hearings in the case and that green and pink ribbons hang on doors and posts on and around the courthouse.

"My family's tax payer dollars go to support this courthouse too," he said. Miller said the bows and ribbons and reserved seating show unbalanced support for the Bobo family, and have created a "mob mentality" in the community. "We want justice, not a lynching," Miller said.

Miller said his family has intentions of contacting the American Civil Liberties Union on the matter (HOTD: haha, good luck with that -- the victim's family is higher priority when it comes to seating in open court and wearing justice ribbons to hearings where no trial is underway and no jury is present is certainly not a legal issue or equivalent of unfair treatment, IMO.)

Miller also said that Dylan Adams is mentally unfit to defend himself. DA Stowe responded to the press by reminding them that Dylan had been found competent for past trials.

Miller and the rest of the Adams family are huge assholes, IMO. They act as if Holly's family members and the community members are the criminals for supporting LE and seeking justice in a case of kidnap, rape and murder. The Bobos and the community didn't put the Adams brothers in the hot seat -- LE put them there after years of investigation.

I think $25,000 bail is cheap and he's getting off lucky with that given this case involves murder.

The Adams brothers put themselves there by (allegedly) committing the crimes against Holly. I hate how some families will deny any wrongdoing by their (even distant) family members.

DECATURVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Three of the men charged in the Holly Bobo murder case appeared in court on Wednesday.

Judge Creed McGinley said he's frustrated with how slowly the cases for Zach Adams and Jason Autry are moving.

"I am absolutely out of patience with these cases not moving," he said.

Zach Adams and Autry are facing kidnapping and murder charges in the case. Dylan Adams, brother of Zach Adams, is charged with rape.

Zach Adams was first to appear in the courtroom on Wednesday morning.

I'm with the judge; anxious to see the suspects face a jury. 45

I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for the Bobos to remain patient after all these years.

Thanks for the update, Js.

What's next?

Change of Venue:
Attorneys for both Adams and Autry said Wednesday they will ask the judge for a change of venue once their trial dates are set.

Judge C. Creed McKinley said he thought it would be "impossible" to find a fair and impartial jury in Decatur County due to the publicity and emotions surrounding the case.

Prosecution drags its feet (c'mon already):
Also during the hearing, Adams' attorney told the judge that she had received tons of discovery, but no physical evidence that linked her client to the murder or kidnapping of Bobo.

Judge McKinley scolded District Attorney Matt Stowe, saying all evidence needs to be given to the defense. McKinley said repeatedly that his patience has run out because the case has not moved forward, reports the station.

Death penalty case or not?
The judge also asked that the state let him know as soon as possible whether or not they plan to seek the death penalty. Adams' attorney said, in her experience, it could take from 12 to 18 months to prepare for trial, if the state seeks death, reports the station.

Next court dates for suspects:
Zachary Adams' brother, Dylan Adams, 26, was also in court Wednesday. He is charged with two counts of rape of Holly Bobo. The judge said his case is on a different timeline since he was only indicted in October.

Another court date was set for January 14 for both Jason Autry and Dylan Adams. Zach Adams' next court date is scheduled for January 21.

DECATURVILLE, Tenn. –Attorneys for two men charged with kidnapping and murdering Holly Bobo are asking for those charges to be dismissed, citing lack of evidence.

WTVF-TV reports the motion by the attorneys for Zach Adams and Jason Autry states that they have yet to receive "dental records analysis and forensic studies" of a skull that law enforcement says is Bobo's.

"It would appear to me if they had a skull with a dental match they would have given that to us right away. It's a little suspicious why we don't have that forensic information," Autry's attorney Fletcher Long told the station.

Adams has been in jail since March and Autry has been in jail since April. At a court hearing on Dec. 17, Decatur County Circuit Judge Creed McGinley expressed concern that prosecutors had not yet provided key evidence to defense attorneys. He ordered the state to begin turning it over by Dec. 24.

Long says the state has missed that deadline.

He says he has received nothing linking the suspects to a homicide.

SHELBY COUNTY, TN (WMC) - Seasoned and well-respected Deputy District Attorney Jennifer Nichols is the new prosecutor handling the Holly Bobo murder case.

Nichols was appointed in the fall, but was taken off the case by District Attorney Amy Weirich after the 24th District Attorney Matt Stowe accused the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation of misconduct in their investigation of the Bobo case.

"I wasn't part of that," explained Nichols.

The Shelby County District Attorney's office took over as prosecutor in the Bobo case after things were smoothed over between Stowe and the TBI. Stowe has excused himself from the case.

I was looking for some information on the charges of misconduct for this case and found a thread similar to ours, this one is massive and appears to be a local one. I read a few of the recent posts and it looks like people who either claim to be family or know Holly and her family are some of the posters. It's a very large thread, over 200,000 posts. I'm going to start at the beginning, I want to see what the locals are saying.

Here's the link if anyone is interested - Holly thread

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say they have completed their analysis of more than 460 pieces of evidence in the case of a woman whose partial remains were found three years after her disappearance, possibly bringing defense attorneys a step closer to seeing how prosecutors have linked their clients to her.

Two men, Zachary Adams and Jason Autry, were arrested last spring and charged with murder and kidnapping in the case of Holly Bobo, a nursing student who was 20 when she disappeared from her house in April 2011. In October, John Dylan Adams was charged with raping Bobo. All have pleaded not guilty.

No trial has been set and the defendants' lawyers have filed a motion to dismiss the charges.

Now I'm concerned the state doesn't have what they need to move forward.

I do too but the missed deadline and lack of turning over evidence is worrisome to me, maybe this is how the game is played, I don't know, some of it is very confusing to me.

Key witness found dead

http://www.wsmv.com/story/28180498/suspe...found-dead

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man that is allegedly tied to the kidnapping and murder of Holly Bobo has been found dead.

Shayne Austin, who has not been indicted and was originally offered immunity for his testimony in the case, apparently committed suicide out-of-state, according Luke Evans, Austin's attorney.

"Obviously a tragic loss for the Austin family and they are besides themselves with grief," said Evans.

"It's unfortunate the government came in and made allegations without basis. People had to live with those allegations ... under the cloud of those allegations."

Son of a bitch.

I think prosecutors really need witnesses to talk in order to prove their case against against Adams and Autry. At least at one point, the state was relying on Shayne Austin in that capacity.

I have no way of knowing obviously, but don't believe his defense attorney's story that Austin killed himself because he was wrongly accused of being directly involved or being in-the-know. I think it's more likely he killed himself because he was involved in at least the kidnapping and rape of Holly Bobo (maybe the murder too). If he'd have taken the immunity deal and coughed up what he knew, he'd be a snitch. If he was more involved than what his immunity covered, he'd probably be in jail. In either case, he'd be a snitch with a target on his chest on the outside or the inside.

I wonder if he left a note?

This is very disheartening to read.

Sometimes I wonder if the authorities even have enough to move forward in prosecuting any of the people they have incarcerated.
