Simply because of demand it's pretty much impossible to avoid that. And if you're serious about thirld world boycots you're not left with much to eat or wear really nowadays.
Besides, your never ending hunger for those wonderful creatures got me to where I am today. Bless you folks for that.

In India and Indonesia it is 30.000 and all because of the US of A.
The best crab is fresh out of the water still moving and steamed straight away for 20 minutes. Pure heaven. Or you take live Mud Crabs and do them Singapore Style in a Chilli sauce.
With the divers we also had some incidents where the locals pumped air into tire tubes, chucked them down with a weight attached and the folks on the boat wondered when their compadres from down under came floating up after an hour back side up, or also when their air pump was located right next to their diesel engine. It's like sucking the air out of a running truck exhaust. Silly things.
