Should citizens have to pay to educate illegals?

I know when I was in grade school we had classroom packets for some subjects that would allow for the fast the medium and slow kids to advance at their own rate.

It's called tracking and it is also now illegal as hell.

Guess who complained? I'll give you a hint, it wasn't the parents of the kids in the high or middle groups...

Another tidbit most people don't know: ESEP kids have a limited amount of days they can be in trouble. Most of them use that up in the first quarter or so of school, so they are allowed to bug the other kids for the entire rest of the year without consequence.

Lovely, right?

All a parent has to say is "the behavior is a manifestation of their disability" and they get off away with felonies. Crazy.

I wouldn't bitch if most disabilities were organic. Sadly, the kids with "real" organic disabilities are usually the kids that are in a resource room (separate room). It's the 80% that are fucked up because of bad parenting, drugs and alcohol, dysfunctional families, idiot parents who don't have books at home, ghetto rats that are raising thugs, etc that are mainstreamed into regular classrooms.

There is no end in sight. Once your kid hits middle school, keep a VERY close eye on them. Get them into as many advanced classes as you can. That will protect them.

This year, Georgia is thinking of putting the low kids in with the Venture kids. That is a tragedy.

If you think none of this affects you because you don't have kids in school, think again.

Schools are a reflection of their respective communities and society as a whole.

Who makes the policies in this country? Is the middle represented? Are citizens encouraged to be all they can be? Is success rewarded?

The low groups, who grow into the low group of adults, want to have the same houses, same cars, same clothes, same vacations. But, like in our schools, they don't want to have to work for it or earn it. They want it given them. The 60% grades teachers are FORCED to give non-working students is the 60% benefits we give them out of our own pockets. If you think about it, lazy motherfuckers live off about 60% of what average people do if you count their housing, medical, food, utility, and monetary benefits.

This shit matters. We are training a whole new generation to be pieces of shit the rest of us have to support for their entire fucking lives.

Hopeless, isn't it?

(This was going to be the subject of my dissertation, but the college didn't like it. Too close to home, I guess.)

I love the way quacker posts stuff here that she actually thinks will be noticed by anyone important enough to give a fuck.

ya OP everyone is just like you no one gives a rats ass about anything, no one cares about their country "assuming of course they have one" and no one and I repeat no one gives a fuck about kids, especially their own.

Your daughter will be in the lower 20% of her school, just wait and see.

Bullshit. That's exactly why he did it, he hoped for it to have a negative reaction on his teacher & I am astounded that someone from the sheriff's office, of all places, would say that.

I was skimming the article and I thought I saw "Twat". Now that I've typed that I'm thinking about Sylvester and Tweety. "I thought I saw a Twat! I did, I did see a twat"!

The black male! Ta dah!

What a shocking conclusion I did not anticipate that for one moment.

O P ...
You took one line out of everything she has written and used it as a characterization. She didn't say "All the Problems" and she didn't just say black male. Her argument is sound and well constructed and passionate. Sometimes its' a welcome sound to hear the truth from one single voice even if it runs counter to establishment. I see Cracker's point. I think it has merit.

OP is always convinced he knows more than anybody else about every single thing, even if he has absolutely no experience with it. It would be too hard to actually look up the information and see that I have based my opinion on truth. Truth hurts sometimes.

But he did pass high school chemistry and stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Do I know you, fatty? Because you act like you know me. Because you read a few of my posts, so you know me. Stalker behavior. I'm not in love with you just because you joined this site.

Here, undereducated tard:

The latest NAEP results show that achievement gaps are narrowing even as our student population continues to grow more diverse. The results also show African-American students posting all time highs in a number of categories.

Highlights include:
•African American fourth graders achieved their highest reading scores in the history of the test, and African-American fourth and eighth graders achieved their highest math scores in the history of the test.
•The achievement gap between white and African-American students in 4th grade reading narrowed to its lowest point since 1992.
•Compared to 2005, about 23,000 more African-American fourth graders have fundamental reading skills.
•In the four years between 2003 and 2007, math scores at 4th grade went up 5 points. That's equivalent to adding an extra half-year of instruction to 4th grade. These gains were driven in part by progress by African-American students (up 6 points since 2003).
•Since 2003, the achievement gap in math between white and African-American and white and Hispanic 8th graders narrowed by three points, while at the same time all three groups made significant academic gains.
•Math scores for 8th grade students rose significantly since 2005 (up 2 points), driven in part by gains among African-American students (up 5 points).

For the stupid people who pretend they know what they are talking about, but really don't:

NCLB takes particular measure of certain groups (tards, darkies, and ghetto/trailer park/ten beaners to a room poor folks). It is the scores of those particular groups on which AYP is based. (Adequate Yearly Progress)

Because most white people who don't have alcoholic parents were doing just fine.

Who do you think they mean by "No Child?" Did you think that out? Or are you just parading your ignorant indignation and pretending it is knowledge?

I can always spot the posers.

What subgroups are accountable for AYP?
Each school and district is assessed to determine if it has achieved AYP for all students in communication arts and math. In addition, each of the subgroups listed below is required to meet AYP goals, unless there are 30 or fewer students in the subgroup. There must be at least 50 students in the IEP and LEP subgroups for them to be accountable for AYP.

■Asian & Pacific Islander
■Free/Reduced lunch
■Black
■IEP (Special education)
■Hispanic
■LEP (Limited English proficiency)
■American Indian
■Other/Non-response
■White

OH, NO! The educational system is all fucked up and I didn't even know! I just send my kid and have no fucking idea what the hell is going on there and what NCLB really is! What, you want everybody to change how they do things so all subgroups can be equal, even if that means lowering the standards of historically higher-achieving groups so they are more in line with the low achievers?

Who is getting screwed? The Asians. I would be PISSED if I were Asian. They are the workhorses of NCLB because everyone knows they are good at math.

When you see that a school has failed to meet AYP, you need to check the scores on the subgroups. You will often find three particular subgroups pulled down the scores for an ENTIRE school. THAT is what NCLB is REALLY about. It wasn't intended to help regular kids.

Most of our domestic policy is based around helping those who don't help themselves.

I am NOT afraid to say it. I hope it offends you slack-asses so you do something to change it. I'm tired of seeing good kids get the shaft because you fucked up your kids. Fuck you for expecting me to lower the standards for my kids so they more closely match yours.

Wonder how the achievement gap is closing? Regular kids are getting screwed over so the other subgroups appear to "catch up."

It's all fucking bullshit. Open your eyes.

Asians excluded (I don't know why but they're all freaking smart...and the Asian population here isn't necessarily poor), doesn't it come down to income levels and parental education? With exceptions, the majority of the under performers in my area are Hispanics (and they're also, largely, low income in this area not to mention that their kids start the system as ESL learners). I don't think that's racist; it's just a fact.
