Jesus, this is weird!

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. -- A 4-year-old boy and his grandmother are missing in Altamonte Springs, authorities said Wednesday night.

“I want my grandson, and I want Ramona back now,” said Linda Kaplan, who is the boy’s other grandmother.

Kaplan showed up to 43-year-old Ramona McCoy's apartment frantic after learning that McCoy and her grandson, Christian Longhurst, haven't been seen since Tuesday night.

“I think it is very strange, and something is wrong,” said Kaplan.

Altamonte Springs police said McCoy took Christian outside their apartment at The Landings off Sandlake Road and State Road 434 in Altamonte Springs and vanished.

“The adult sent a text message to her daughter indicating that she was going to take the young child for a tricycle ride. That was approximately 8:30 p.m. on May 24,” said Brian Lipsey, with the Altamonte Springs Police Department.

A neighbor said she saw the two when she was coming home. Police said they don't have any suspects, but they spent hours questioning the boy's mother, Brandy Steadman.

Kaplan said she knows something isn't right. She said she wouldn't be surprised if Steadman had a hand in the pair's disappearance. :O Kaplan said Steadman has tried to use the boy and threatened to take him away because she had lost custody of the child.

However, Steadman is not a suspect, police said.

Altamonte Springs police said it’s a strange case so far and hope anyone with information will call the department.

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. -- Police in Altamonte Springs are searching for a missing 4-year-old boy and his grandmother.

Police said 43-year-old Ramona McCoy and her grandson, 4-year-old Christian Longhurst went for a walk on Tuesday night, but they haven't been heard from since.

Christian's mother, Brandy Steadman, said she has no idea where her family could be. She is now on a desperate search to find her missing son and her mother.

"We went to the beach yesterday. Everything was fine when we left to go to work no one is here,” said Steadman.

While Steadman was at Cocoa Beach, she said McCoy sent her a text message, telling her she was taking Christian for a walk. The two were last seen around 8:30pm, a few blocks from the Landings Apartment complex in Altamonte Springs near Sandlake Road and State Road 434. McCoy has custody of Christian and they live with Steadman.

Police said McCoy's car is still in the apartment complex and her keys are on the counter.

“He's so cute and adorable and everybody loves him,” said Steadman.

Police went door to door Wednesday asking for help to track the two down.

Justin Peeple, who is Steadman’s boyfriend, told WFTV McCoy just had a bad break-up.

"Grandmother just broke up with a boyfriend, and I'm not sure what went on there, but I heard there's something bad," Peeples said.

“Really good kid sweet lovable,” said Peeples.

Police aren’t calling the disappearance suspicious, but neighbor’s said they think it is. Officers and Steadman are hoping the two show up soon.

Police are still actively searching for the two on Thursday.

weird, i wonder why she would change their appearance..

After a missing grandmother and grandson are found safe Thursday, Altamonte Springs police said the investigation isn't over.

Police said the grandmother changed the appearance of her grandson and herself while law enforcement were looking for them.

Ramona McCoy Longhurst said the reason she left home with her grandson was personal. It was something she needed to get away and think about.

Police said they don't necessarily want to dig into her personal life, but they do have questions for her and others close to her.
