this is so disgusting, and encountered by police all the time. nasty sick fuckers. i read this today and it made my blood boil, thinking of all the bodily fluids cops have to contend with. sometimes accidentally, sometimes intentionally. and the officer that has to go through all the testing does not have the right to know if the bastard has HIV or anything else. we have to get a court order for that information.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41) -- Shively Police say an officer was taken to the hospital for medical testing after a rowdy suspect spit into that officer's mouth.

Shively Police Chief Ralph Miller says it's an unfortunate reminder of the dangers police officers face on a daily basis.

41-year-old Amy M. Brown was arrested Thursday afternoon. Police say they were dispatched to an apartment in the 3100 block of Wayside Dr. after they received a report that Brown was violating a protective order.

As soon as the officers walked in the front door, Brown spit at them, striking one officer on the left side of his face, according to an arrest report. The officers then cuffed her and began walking her to their police cruiser, but she resisted, kicking and spitting.

Cops say she tried to kick out the window of the police cruiser, and wouldn't stop spitting, so they shackled her and placed a device called a "spit shield" on her face.

Brown was taken to the jail and charged with 3rd degree assault and violation of a domestic violence order.

Shively Police Chief Ralph Miller says at least one officer had to be taken to the hospital for blood tests after Brown spit in that officer's mouth. Miller says that both officers who were involved in the run are back at work today, but they are still waiting for the test results.

He says the incident calls attention to the dangers officers regularly face when they have to arrest combative suspects, adding that -- whenever bodily fluids are involved -- the threat of catching deadly diseases is in the back of every officer's mind.

"People don't really think about that," he said, although he added that, when you're in law enforcement, "that's the first thing that crosses your mind when you have a situation like that."

Miller says officer's train for the danger -- and have special equipment like environment suits to use when they believe there is a real and present threat -- but they don't always have proper warning.

"Sometimes you don't have time to go and get your big toys," he said. "You've got to go with what you've got."

Miller would not comment on whether Brown had any communicable diseases, noting that any such disclosure would violate privacy laws.

it WAS funny. i had taken the bitch to jail for exposing herself to kids...very rare for a female. and she had her pants down around her ankles. which is how i threw her in the cruiser. so she's in intake at the jail spitting at everyone trying to search her and pull her damn pants up. after i shoved the pepper spray can between her teeth the booking officer went nuts, yelling NO! NOT UNTIL I TAKE HER MUGSHOT! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

yeah yeah, police brutality.

Durango post office employee is accused of spitting his feces on a police officer after being arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
Paul Andrew Kausalik, 61, of Durango is suspected of felony assault, driving under the influence and criminal mischief.

He is free on a personal-recognizance bond, meaning he didn’t have to pay anything but agrees to make future court appearances.

Kausalik is a highly visible figure at the Durango post office, 222 W. Eighth St. He works as a retail associate helping customers with their stamps and postal needs. He is a 31-year veteran of the U.S. Postal Service and has been working with the U.S. Postal Service in Durango since 1982, said Al DeSarro, the service’s spokesman for Colorado.

He remained employed with the service as of Tuesday.

According to an arrest affidavit, the events began at 11:59 p.m. Feb. 11 when a Durango Police Department officer observed a vehicle turn right onto 32nd Street from Main Avenue without using a turn signal.

The officer, Chad Langley, pulled Kausalik over on County Road 251, the extension of 32nd Street between Holly Avenue and East Animas Road (County Road 250).

While speaking to Kausalik, the officer detected alcohol on his breath, according to the affidavit.

Kausalik said he had not been drinking.

Kausalik performed voluntary roadside maneuvers, but not to Langley’s satisfaction, the affidavit says.

A preliminary breath test indicated he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.142, almost three times the 0.05 legal driving limit in Colorado.

Langley arrested Kausalik and took him to the Durango police station, 990 East Second Ave., for a formal breath test.

At the station, Kausalik asked to use the restroom.

Officer Langley twice found Kausalik asleep in the restroom.

He told Kausalik he could not stay in the restroom all night to avoid the breath test, and he needed to either take the test or choose a refusal.

Kausalik eventually left the bathroom looking at the floor, walking toward the officer.

Langley asked Kausalik what was in his mouth, and he continued to walk toward the officer, head down and expressionless.

When Kausalik was about 4 feet from the officer, Kausalik looked up, opened his mouth and took a deep breath.

“As I observed what he had in his mouth, I took a step back and began turning my head as he violently spit the contents of his mouth toward my face,” officer Langley wrote in the affidavit. “I felt the matter strike the left side of my face and head.”

Kausalik also had feces on his hands, the affidavit says.

He was restrained and taken to the La Plata County Jail and booked on suspicion of felony assault on a police officer.

Durango police Capt. Micki Browning said there are health concerns whenever an officer comes into contact with bodily fluids.

“I just get floored sometimes, the treatment our officers endure in the course of business,” she said. “It’s a reminder of what our guys go through and the things we do to keep the public safe. This is not something that is listed on any job description.”

Kausalik did not return a phone call left Tuesday at the Durango post office. He also did not return a phone call left at his home.

Orlando Sentinel
A doctor was arrested this week on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs after he nearly sideswiped a Florida Highway Patrol captain's car, banged his head on the inside of a patrol car and spat blood into a sergeant's face, a report shows.

Zachary Bird, 41, was northbound on the Central Florida GreeneWay near Curry Ford Road about 1:30 a.m. Sunday and apparently was speeding when his car almost hit the captain's car, which also was northbound, the report states.

Bird had alcohol on his breath, his eyes were glassy and bloodshot and he was unsteady on his feet, a trooper wrote. He refused to provide a blood sample.

Bird, an anesthesiologist, told investigators he works at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville and "treats you guys in the E.R," the report states. He lives in Avalon Park in east Orange County.

Bird's employer, medical contractor TeamHealth, said Thursday that he is on suspension while they investigate. A hospital spokesman said he is no longer welcome there.

Bird was arrested on a charge of DUI about 2 a.m. after failing field-sobriety tests.

A trooper found $40,000 in his pockets and another $14,000, two handguns — a .44-caliber revolver and a .45-caliber semiautomatic — a bottle of pills and a vial of liquid in his BMW, according to the report. The drugs and liquid were sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for analysis.

Video from a trooper's car shows Bird banging his head against a partition inside a patrol car until blood runs down his face. Bird accused troopers of stealing his money, the report states.

Bird became enraged, spat a mouthful of blood into the sergeant's face and eyes and kicked the door so hard that he damaged the hinges, the report states. The car required several hundred dollars worth of repair and cleaning by a hazardous-materials team, said Sgt. Kim Montes, a Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman.

Troopers took Bird to Florida Hospital East Orlando, where he kicked a light hanging above a hospital bed and made threatening remarks to troopers, the report states. He said he could "take" all three troopers and emphasized that he had weapons at his home, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Bird previously lived in Broward County, where he worked at The Body Sculptique Cosmetic Center. An online profile lists him as "co-founder of Anti-aging & Aesthetic Medicine and The Body Sculptique" in Weston and says he is experienced in dermatological surgery, emergency medicine and anesthesiology.

The center specializes in fat-transfer buttocks augmentation, Botox injections, breast enlargement, hair removal and other cosmetic services. A woman who answered the phone Thursday said she was not allowed to comment and no one else was available.

Bird received his medical degree in 2001 from Wayne State University and was a resident in anesthesiology at the University of Florida, according to the Florida Board of Medicine.

This thread reminded me of a Toronto cop that was tried and jailed for murdering his mistress. During the trial he constantly interrupted it, burping and farring loudly, one time reaching into his pants and pulling out his own feces. He was sent to Kingston pen, but was moved elsewhere eventually as he would I constantly spit, urinate and throw feces at the guards apparently. Think his name was Richard Wills.

WESH reports when Smith was being transported to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office he became violent and began hitting his head and face on the roof of the patrol car. Police reportedly said once Smith’s nose began to bleed he spit blood on several deputies.

Officials said once Smith's nose began to bleed he spit blood at several deputies.
