Celina Cass, 11. N.H. deceased
Poor kid, stuck with a screwed up family. I feel bad for her spirit. People have a way of destroying the closest thing to them sometimes and its just so maddening that it could happen at any given moment and is probably happening now as I type. A very depressing thought that I hate even giving a moment to ponder.
Two adults killing each other is more palatable than this.
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

Not really sure why, but the competency hearing was cancelled.

Competency hearing for Celina Cass' stepfather called off

COLEBROOK, N.H. -
A hearing to determine whether Celina Cass' stepfather is competent to stand trial for her murder was canceled Thursday.

Wendell Noyes, 52, was arrested in June, five years after 11-year-old Celina was found dead in the Connecticut River in West Stewartstown, New Hampshire.

We still don't know what cracked the case because the records remain sealed. But whether Noyes is competent to stand trial is in question. A competency hearing was scheduled for Thursday but it was called off. No word on whether it was rescheduled.

Last year, a judge ruled Noyes incompetent to face some separate misdemeanor charges.

Thank you for the update, cannongal.

I wish we knew why the hearing was delayed.

I'm really curious what's going on behind the scenes and wondering if a plea deal is being negotiated. If Noyes provides a credible confession, I hope he gets sentenced to no less than life. But, if he's determined to be incompetent and gets placed in a mental health corrections facility, I don't think there's any guarantee.

Wow, the new media reports include some explosive details that I've not seen before.

First off, stepdad Wendell Noyes is not going to be prosecuted. The judge just granted the prosecution's request to instead involuntarily commit him to a mental health facility. I hope they're shooting for lifetime incarceration.

Here's the latest release:

CONCORD, N.H.-- A judge on Monday dismissed charges against a man accused of drowning his 11-year-old stepdaughter after finding him incompetent to stand trial.

Prosecutors said the man confessed to killing the stepdaughter five years ago because he believed he had impregnated her. But defense attorneys suggested another man living in their home was the killer.

Wendell Noyes, 42, was charged with murder in the July 2011 death of Celina Cass, whose body was found six days after she was reported missing, wrapped in a comforter and weighed down by a sandbag in the Connecticut River. Noyes was arrested in June at the state psychiatric hospital, where he had been hospitalized after being found incompetent to stand trial on unrelated misdemeanors.

Judge Paul Desjardins on Monday granted the prosecution’s request to dismiss the charges, find that Noyes is dangerous to himself or others and require him to be evaluated for involuntary commitment. In a separate motion, his attorneys argued that he was not dangerous and said the state lacked evidence linking him to the girl’s death.

Defense lawyers instead pointed to Kevin Mullaney, whose father was a former boyfriend of Celina’s mother. Mullaney, who was 22 at the time, is serving two to six years in prison for receiving stolen property and other charges.

According to Noyes’ attorneys, Celina’s pajama bottoms and underwear were found stuffed in a tire in the back of Mullaney’s truck and semen on a pair of sandy, muddy boxer shorts found in her clothes hamper tested positive for Mullaney’s DNA.

It was unclear whether Mullaney has an attorney. According to prosecutors, he has denied involvement in the girl’s death and said Noyes must have planted her clothing in his truck to frame him.

Investigators say Noyes made numerous inconsistent statements about where he last saw Celina the night before she was reported missing, how many beers he drank that night and what time he got up the next morning. Three days after Celina disappeared, he told a reporter the family was “grieving,” which struck investigators as unusual and indicative of knowing that she was dead.

A sandbag was missing from the back of his truck, and during the search for the girl he led investigators on a route that was “basically a circle around the body,” police said.

A jail inmate who served time with Noyes in 2015 told investigators that Noyes confessed to the killing, though police say that man’s credibility has not been established. The inmate said Noyes admitted that he and another man had been having sex with his stepdaughter and “they had to get rid of her” because they thought she was pregnant.

At the time of Noyes’ arrest, Louisia Cass said she hoped her ex-husband would end up in prison rather than the hospital. She said Noyes had seemed like a loving and caring husband but as time passed after Celina’s death she began to believe he was responsible. “I hope he rots in hell,” she said.

The girl’s disappearance led to an intense search by federal, state and local law enforcement in the tiny North Country town of Stewartstown, a mile from the Canadian border.

These cases demand medieval punishments.

Since we're not sure if it was step-dad or the younger kid, we'll take care of both.

How about drawn and quartered? but don't forget to cut out their entrails first and burn them in front of the scum.

Then, let the horses do their work.

These guys deserve it.

Came across this article, while searching for something else.   I guess pedophiles run in the Noyes family....

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX)  A man is convicted tonight for having sex with a child. It took an Essex County jury 48 minutes to convict 45-year-old Gordon Noyes of Canaan, Vermont. Prosecutors say Noyes sexually abused the child for years. Noyes has a long criminal history and now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years, and possibly life in prison as a habitual offender. Noyes is facing additional charges with three other possible victims. Noyes is the brother of Wendell Noyes, who admitted to killing his stepdaughter, 11-year-old Celina Cass, in West Stewartstown in 2011. He thought he got her pregnant, then dumped her body in the Connecticut River near Canaan. His charges were dismissed after being found incompetent for trial and was then sent to New Hampshire secure psychiatric unit.

Good Lord. Raping children is so seriously fucked up and I resent that it was presented as "having sex" rather than what it really is, rape.
