About your shooting stance, Who taught you to stand like that when you shoot?

Modified weaver is a much better postion that allows for the use of a flashlight when shooting or holding at gun point in the dark, as well as giving you a more solid sight picture.

I'm willing to trade shooting lessons for something.

I hope you don't think I missed the revolver you're holding either.

LC no they don't, you take the clip out the weapon won't fire.

They were on a banned list on our dept for that very reason.

senarios of reasons to change mags with out it being empty and replacing it with a full mag are numerous.

One of our combat courses required it, if you didn't drop the mag at a particualar station with 2 rounds in it you would time out on the next station because of the reload.

this was designed to teach you that at times after a gun fight with the trash, holding several at gun point with only 2 rounds in your weapon is not a good idea, a quick clip change, crims know weapons and if one of them noticed the smith, and they knew it wouldn't fire with the clip out could give them a second to attack and over power you.

Sig's and Glocks, HK's were our weapons of choice.

I carried a sig and still do.

in our training course and yearly qualification, we dropped the mags while on the run through obstacles blah blah, but not with 2 rounds left. however, what you say makes sense.

haha Glocks were banned on my Dept. plastic shit. Barettas too. i had a list, but don't feel like looking for it now.

speaking of revolvers...a few on our Dept. were grandfathered in, beautiful guns. i always did a double-take when seeing a lovely polished wooden stock.

A quick-handed NYPD sergeant stopped a violent felon from shooting him in the gut by jamming his ring finger under the hammer of the felon’s .38 revolver, cops said today.

Sgt. Michael Miller and Officer William Reddin were on patrol when they noticed a livery cab speeding eastbound on Quincy Street near Malcolm X Boulevard at about 4 a.m. today. The plainclothes cops pulled the beige Lincoln Towncar over, but when they walked up displaying their shields they noticed that one of the passengers in the back seat, Eugene Graves, was making suspicious movements near his waistband.

After the cops told the passengers to get out of the car, Miller, a 13-year-veteran, reached toward a bulge at Graves’ waist and felt the gun underneath his clothes.

“He told him to put his hands behind him, and that’s when he started to fight,” said a police source.

Reddin, a four-year veteran, rushed to help Miller, calling for backup as he ran, while Graves’ backseat confederate took off.

Graves managed to press his Taurus .38 revolver into Miller’s stomach, but Miller grabbed hold of the gun, wedging his right ring finger between the gun’s hammer and cylinder, before the murderous Graves could fire a shot.

“This guy pulled the trigger so many times he broke the sergeant’s finger,” said the police source.

Uniformed police officers arrived within moments and helped to subdue the still-struggling Graves, who was also found to be in possession of about 2 ounces of crack, according to a police source.
