If the dough wasn't so delicate and tedious, it wouldn't be a long process at all.
I usually make the syrup early in the day because it has to cool and then be refrigerated because at the end of the baking, you pour it over the HOT pastry and it gives it that wonderful flakiness and the 'sizzle' is just so cool to listen to!
Sally, health food isn't always healthy! If it's pre-packaged stuff check your ingredients... many times you'll find hydrogenated oils and other nasty shit like chemicals and preservatives. Kind of defeats the whole idea of "Health Food".
As long as you're active and healthy you can eat anything you want in moderation and as long as it's FRESH and natural ingredients.
I mean if you go and snarf down 10 pieces of baklava in one day, sure you're going to get a fat ass! But a piece or two won't hurt none.
A teaspoon of sugar only has 16 calories and a pat of butter isn't outrageous either.
If you can't pronounce it, it's not food - don't eat it. Eat in moderation. It's all about the calorie intake and your activity level.
By health food, I meant vegetables, fruit, beans, grains, lean protein, cottage cheese, almondsect...all stuff I keep in the house, butnot in the mood for right now. I want something like a little Debbie or chips lol. I know it's OK to eat that stuff in moderation, but when I do occasionallybuy junk food, my kids and their damn friends have it gone in 5 minutes. I go to get something and all that is left is an empty box :

Don't worry Lumpy - I was only able to fit 6 pieces in that container - you're 4 pieces under the limit for a fat ass!
Sally, my ex used to eat so much junk food if I didn't grab a piece when he had it in his fat hands I'd never get to taste it. Jesus, God forbid I eat more than 2 slices of pizza out of a large pie! That ass hole would actually accuse me of "depriving" him of food!
I settled this by buying stuff I like for the occasional snack that he hates. Anything with nuts in it was a guarantee I would not have him touch it. Same for foods with ingredients he hated that were 'healthy'. He only ate a handful of stuff so it was easy to segregate stuff I wanted when I came in hungry after a long trail ride or swimming.

Ah yea, that will be at the top of my list.
Do you make spinakapta too? I know I didn't spell that right but you probably know what I mean.

No, I don't like the cheese in it and if I don't like the taste of a certain food, I can't / won't make it because I have nothing to gage it against.
Funny you ask about that.... since we couldn't get the crabs last night we had Greek.
