It was shocking when he killed his kids, unbelievable really, even though I thought he was responsible for his wife's disappearance.

This is some story, huh. It's like the whole family is fucked up beyond repair. I can still recall the day Josh hacked the kids and blew up the house. I could feel LC's shock across cyberspace. Seriously. It was stunning. I don't think any of us thought he would hurt the kids even though we felt he was responsible for his wife's disappearance. It's so sad & awful. I have a great deal of compassion for the wife's parents, they lost so much.

Let's hope Steven Powell is convicted of child pornography and gets the max sentence (and spills what he knows about the location of Susan's remains). His trial begins next week.

On the eve of his child pornography trial, Steven Powell is once again claiming the search of his Puyallup, Washington, home in August 2011 was illegal.

In October, prosecutors refiled a charge of possession of child pornography against Powell, 64, in Pierce County Superior Court after an appeals court determined that the charge was wrongly dismissed by a judge during Powell's original 2012 trial.

The father of Josh Powell is accused of taking inappropriate pictures of two neighbor girls, ages 10 and 8, using a telephoto lens from his bedroom peering into their home. If convicted, Powell — who already served 30 months in prison after being convicted of voyeurism — could be sentenced to an additional five years.

Powell's trial was scheduled to begin Monday but was continued until next week after he filed a 127-page motion claiming the search warrant served by West Valley police in Utah on his Puyallup home was illegal and that all evidence collected as a result of the warrant should be tossed.

GUILTY

A Pierce County jury found Steven Powell guilty Monday of possessing child pornography.

Powell, 65, was ordered held without bail pending his sentencing Aug. 21. He faces up to five years in prison.

I really hope he's ordered to serve the full five year max.
