Hi from a Hoosier!
#1
Hello, everyone. I came here to view the Pettit murder following a link on the FindaDeath website that I frequent. Although I'm just about the most gentle person you will find, I am also interested in true crime & celebrity crime.

I have been married 17 years. I worked as a legal secretary for 12 years until this August, when I got a job typing depositions from home. I love it!!

I guess the two words that describe my interests best are: animals and books (or Kindle books, lol). I adore all animals and cannot stand to see or hear of abuse or neglect of them! I read true crime, biographies & everything Stephen King has ever written!

I have a slight connection to a fairly well-known crime that happened here in Indiana, and after I read this site for a while, I'll see if it looks like something that people here would be interested in. If so, I will start a thread on it.

Nice to meet ya!

Yes, Lady Cop, unforutately, the web is like that. People say things they'd never say to your face (some would, though, lol) I usually to ignore it. Lots do it to get a rise out of people & hate when it doesn't, lol.

The case I was talking about is the Shanda Sharer murder in January, 1992. My connection is I was working as an assistant to her mother at the time it happened. It was a horrible crime and I still think about Shanda almost every day. I met her probably 10 times or so. Jacque, her mom, would bring her to work when she would miss school & my dept. had parties together sometimes & would bring their families. That would probably be one time I couldn't ignore someone's awful comments if they would take up for the killers or put Jacque down in some way as a mom. It would be personal to me, as I know them.

Oh I'd say it to your face. Trust.

So do you knit?

LOL, Fibonacci, I don't get it. But in case you are serious, no, I don't knit. I do cross-stitch. In fact, I've been working on a quilt for over 12 years, it's 34 of the way done!!!

Thanks Wildflower & Sphincter! Yes, I've been a "death hag" on Scott's site for many years. We actually met him in 2004. We went on a trip and emailed him about places to go, you know, celeb death sites. This was before he started his Dearly Departed Tour and he actually wrote back & offered to take me & hubby around L.A. to places we wanted to see! Hubby was like, "if this guy shows up in a hearse or something, we're outta here!" lol. I guess it was taking a chance on someone over the net, but he was great!! Had a open-top Jeep & actually rode us around L.A. for 3 hours to the Manson sites, Dorothy Stratten, Janis Joplin, & Ramone Navarro. Those are the ones I remember most. We wanted to see where Freddie Prinze killed himself and it ended up, unbelievably, that we were STAYING IN THE HOTEL IT HAPPENED AT. In the 70's it was an apt. complex. If you go to Freddie's thread at FindaDeath, there are pics we took & sent to Scott to use.

He also took us past Brad Pitt & Jen Aniston house & we saw Brad pulling in the driveway on a cell in a silver Porsche! We figured he was talking to A.Jolie, lol. The split was announced a few months later.

One more thing I will never forget: We were driving along a highway, Scott just a talking away, so nice, and this lady turned in front of us at an intersection...he screamed, "FUCK YOU!!!" real loud and angry, then immediately went back to talking nice again, apologizing for to me for the curse. Me & Joe have laughed about that for years! His Jekyll/Hyde moment. Great guy!!

Oh...we had previously agreed to pay him $50.00 for the tour, but it was so great, we each separately gave him $20.00 more, lol, unbeknowst to the other, lol. It was worth every penny! He also took us to the cemetary Marilyn Monroe, Dorothy Stratten, Jack Lemmon, Dean Martin, lots of celebs buried there. We got lucky....his tour business took off right after that and now I doubt we would get a personal tour.

Hi Domino,

Nice to meet you. I tried counted cross-stitch once, I guess I lost count a couple of times, because my piece came out looking like something that would rival Picasso. I do a lot of sewing though, right now I am working on Halloween costumes. My 14 year old wants to be a potato this year, but with human eyes all over instead of root buds. He's a bit different, you know.

Lady Cop runs a pretty good crime forum, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I am so jealous! I think his method of bringing the dead to "life" through his factual stories is amazing! No doubt you had the time of your lives with him!!!

Hey, Hoser!

Indiana is a shit state. The landscape isn't pretty and the houses look dank and cheerless.

I like animals, but I don't like animal people. They are immune to the smell of cat urine and Cracker isn't.

Cat people. If someone has more than two cats (or dogs) inside, their house stinks like animals and they don't smell it. But I do.

My kid had a horrible teacher a few years ago that had over 10 cats. She was an effen bitch to little kids. Liking animals does not make people saintly.

I love animals, too, but I also get along with people. Some people just feel understood by their cat. How fucking weird is that?

Fuck that.

I would take the company of my cats over most people, they give me unconditional love and all they ask in return is some tuna and the odd belly scratch.

Animals>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>most people.
