Isolationism appeals to me but ultimately, I'm afraid our nation would be less secure if we just sat back and watched world events unfold (and regions implode).

That's the one & only reason I don't comment on it too often, I don't know what the answer is and I couldn't even begin to guess but there has to be a better way than forcing our beliefs/systems on others.

They invited us in. I was about seven when my friend's family had to be evacuated from Iran (I think that is when the bad stuff started over there). The entire family had lived in Iran/Saudi for several years. Their dad was an engineer for Bell Helicopter and was subcontracted out to the military.

They want our help when they need weaponry. They needed to repel the Soviets at the time, then they started using the weapons on each other. I don't know why we arm countries that aren't smart enough to develop their own weapons. We have to stop doing that.

Because the people aren't getting to choose over there. They are born into their circumstances and live a shitty existence. America thinks if we help them overthrow their dictators they will get the freedom they crave. We shake our heads every time we help them topple a gov't only to replace it with the same kind of gov't.

Democracy is learned. If you don't educate the general population, they never get a chance to learn that.

I don't know what the answer is, but I wouldn't love this country so much if we just let them wipe out entire villages of people or fill numerous mass graves. Somebody has to say something or do something. We are the least chicken shit modern nation on Earth. The Brits, EU, Japan, etc just let them kill each other. America tries to help.

It is who we are. If we get a good deal on oil for our troubles, good for us. The other fuckers let us fight the fights then make economic deals with our enemies. Are they better nations?

I was always taught we are a democratic republic. I tend to agree with that because the government seems to have forgotten the Constitution lately.

The states are supposed to be the democracy our federal government was put in place to secure our freedom from invading hoards of heathens nothing more nothing less.

At this point we see a federal government who dictates to the states, it's ass backwards.

Anyway, one of the wonderful perks of travelling across the globe is simply a wider knowledge as one gets to know different cultures and places. Plus sex is awesome as well of course. So it always makes me wonder when I hear sentences like "First they bomb us, now that we're gone, they do it to each other, what the fuck is wrong with these folks?!"

Well, it's that constant bombing that got you guys going there in the first place. Only two leaders in all of history ever managed to keep Iraq quiet. One of them was Saddam. And don't we know what happened to him.

Let's take Apartheid for a moment to perhaps explain such behaviour. Surely Apartheid was bad right? Well, not really, as it clearly pretty much pissed off every other nation on the planet, hence leading to South Africa being fully able to take care of its own needs without any imports.

But people everywhere went "Boohoo, boohoo, what about our poor black brothers?!"

Well, take the white masters away and what happens? Those black brothers start kicking the shit out of each other in a much better fashion than any whitebread could come up with. Apart from the occasional creative Boer who feeds his Tambo to the Lions or drags him along a road at 60 mph. But those where pretty rare. Yet, received much more PR than any hundred bashed up blacks that gather every weekend in Joburgs hospitals to celebrate their new found freedom.

Even the best among them all, good ole Nelson Mandela, even he needed a rather large amount of education on "The White Side" to become that peace loving stature of humanity that he is.

Point being, if you ever lived in Africa, you somehow find out that the white boys that time pretty much had no choice but being those tough motherfuckers, or else they would have been on the receiving end.

Look at Zimbabwe and the last one left, Msee Mugabe.

But then lets not look so far, as the same shit happened in Europe just recently.

Tito was the man who kept all those states that actually hate each other, together, under that great banner of Yugoslavia. He was gone, and the shit kicking started straight away. Still does.

So what's the best way forward? I say we go back to the ways of the Cold War times. Let's not send "Our" boys, even so they are not mine, but hell yeah, am together with them on a daily basis, so I do develop some sort of motherly instincts I guess, but let's just send cash instead, as it was done before, such as Iraq vs Iran.

One side gets the cash from the West, the other from the East, eh voila, they kill each other instead of our boys, and if enough cash can be send, perhaps we can even take care of that planet being over populated problem that we're facing.

Let's start a "Cash instead of Marines!" campaign! Back to the good ole times, where only a few CIA geeks got killed if any. Who's with me?
