#1
BREAKING

it's dark, cold and raining. :( he's barefoot.

parents' names and details?

According to the family, Jason's mother went to use the bathroom, and when she came out, a door off the kitchen was open. The family told News 4 it believes their dog may have hit the lock on the door and opened it, allowing the child to wander out. HOW THE HELL FAR COULD HE GET??

SPARTANBURG, SC --
Spartanburg Dispatch says the Sheriff's office has dogs out searching for a one-year-old child that has been missing since 1:30PM Friday.

The Sheriff's Office says Spartanburg County Communications Center received a call about a missing child in the Cross Anchor area of Spartanburg County.

They say they were told the child had opened a door off of the kitchen of the residence and wandered away.

The family says the child's name is Jason Elijah Burton.

The Burton is described as a 21 month old white male, 20 lbs., blonde hair, brown eyes, wearing a white in color long sleeve pajama top and yellow in color Sponge Bob shorts.

The Sheriff’s Office currently has 17 deputies in the area that are searching for the child.

This includes a K-9 tracking team as well as the Sheriff’s Office helicopter. Officers from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and local Fire Departments are assisting in the search as well.

A “Reverse 911 Notification” of residences in the area is about to take place. If anyone happens to see a child matching this description in the Cross Anchor area of East Blackstock Road and South Carolina Highway 56 you are asked to call 911 immediately.

Concerned citizens are asked not come into the search area at this time to avoid contaminating any scent trails the child has left and also hindering the use of heat seeking equipment onboard the Sheriff’s Office helicopter.

video news report with grandmother at link:

I'm praying and I've been calling prayer lines, and I want everybody to send their prayers up," said Armenda Vinson, Jason's grandmother. "He's so tiny, and I just want him home."

The boy's mother, Brittany Burton, told FOX Carolina that his name is Jason. She said that she thinks her son opened a back door and wandered off. However, as the search progressed the family seemed worried that someone may have taken the boy.

(who/where is daddy?)

"Just please bring him back," Brittany Burton said. "Take him to the fire department, the hospital, anything. Just bring my little boy back."

"There are some ponds back here and everything," said Armenda Vinson, Jason's grandmother. "There are bad people picking people up, and I'm just scared."

I'm already suspitious, and not out of habit.
What the fuck was she doing in the bathroom that took so long for him to get very far at all?
I'm sure the dog was at the door opening it for the kid the split second the bathroom door shut.
My gut tells me it's not good. I hope (as usual) I'm wrong.

There have been unconfirmed comments on several sites that mom was playing "Farmville" when Jason went missing, and has been posting to Facebook all day. I'm with FAHQTOO on this one, I am already suspicious.

I really hope this means nothing other then maybe her did somehow get out of the house, but I am inclined to think otherwise

that baby did not get far on his own barefooted!

Spartanburg Herald Journal
Emergency responders combed a heavily wooded area in Cross Anchor throughout the night, but still haven't found a 21-month-old boy who family members say wandered from a home on East Blackstock Road on Friday afternoon.

Jason Elijah Burton is described as a white male, weighing about 20 pounds, with blonde hair, brown eyes and wearing a white long sleeve pajama top and yellow Sponge Bob SquarePants shorts, according to a written statement from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to his home at 250 E. Blackstock Road at about 1:30 p.m. Friday and were told the child apparently got out the back door.

Dozens of officers, firefighters and other emergency personnel searched through the night, using tracking dogs and a helicopter with heat-sensing equipment.

i'd love to know how he survived a cold rainy night in jammies and bare feet! bless his heart!

wow! he had an angel on his shoulder!

Rescue crews found the boy about two miles from his home, laying on a sandbar in the middle of the Tyger River.

Authorities said the boy was cold after being out all night, but appeared to be in good health. The boy was flown to Spartanburg Regional Hospital to be checked out.

sleeping on a log!!

a Sheriff’s Deputy and an Officer from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources were using individual kayaks owned by the SCDNR Officer to search a portion of the Tyger River about 2 miles upstream from where little Jason Burton had been reported missing on Friday afternoon. As the two officers were searching the banks of the river they found Jason sleeping on a log underneath the embankment. A helicopter from the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office flew to the scene and landed on a sandbar in the river to pick up Jason and fly him back to the Command Post that had been setup across the street from his home. Once back at the Command Post Jason was reunited with his parents and other relatives. The little boy was taken to an ambulance that had been standing by since early yesterday afternoon so he could be examined by Paramedics until the helicopter from Spartanburg Regional Medical Center could arrive and take him to be examined by doctors.
