Are you tired of condolences, crash?
Just look at it as lunch you don't have to cook yourself. haha Great, now I look like an asshole. Thanks, crash We all know you are drunk now, btw.

Gross, Dick. You turned a thread about giving a gift to the trash man into low rent porn.

They use lines like "I'm praying around the clock for you..", "You have all our love and sympathy at the moment" when the truth is by three mouse clicks later they're thinking about a 2.30 pm G&T to wash down the next valium * woops, sorry on the edit.. drunk at 7.30 am? not a bad idea today, but nope...

If you play your cards right, you never have to cook, clean, or do laundry again. haha You nailed the grief stealers. You have to understand they have no idea they are like that. Most people are unintelligent and simple-minded and raised on drama. They need to feel important any way they can because they are not self-actualized. You can't blame them for being cows. They don't know any better. We are trained to feign concern as a society without doing any hard work. Are you presenting the scholarship yourself? That is great and sucks at the same time.

My middle daughter is doing it this year, her older sister did the innaugural last year. We have a plan for her to feign illness if it becomes too over bearing. I'm just hoping the school principal's wife is there...think Betty White with an extremely dry wit, acid tongue and zero threshold for stupid; I lover her, I've asked her to run away with me but she says at almost 70, I'd probably put her hip out

Was your wife a teacher?
Take pics for us. I want to see the principal's wife. I also want to secretly know if Aussies or New Zealanders (whatever you are, Tasmanian?) are as fat as Americans. You have to be proud of your kids for standing up there and doing that. The human spirit is alive and well. Now I have to get back to mopping. Because somebody has to do the drudgery or it all falls apart...

I used to give the postal worker a $20 cash tip but they keep changing. If I spot the "regular" guy, I'll probably give him a $20 but they've been sending someone different lately--he gets nothing.
I've never tipped my garbage collectors but I've heard of putting a six-pack (or two) on top of the cans that day. I think different trucks (not sure if there are different drivers) pick up our garbage vs. recycling. If I tipped anything, I guess the first truck there would be the lucky recipients. Dunno about that one. Commando Cunt Queen

You seem very cheap for someone who lounges around Lake Tahoe for several days at a time.

I would bet she is not cheap, even though the service is more than likely second rate.

The trash guys brought the bin up the driveway for the first time today (I have had the same company for six years). I think they appreciated the money.
Give your trash guys a twenty. That job sucks and people look down on them. A "thank you" once a year won't kill you.
12-22-2011, 02:49 PM
So if I give them some money the garbage dudes will get out of the truck and bring the cans up? I don't think that's gonna happen with my garbage dude. He doesn't even get out if he knocks over the cans.

It's not about them bringing the can up, although I think that is sweet. It was all they could do to show they appreciated the thought. I had a Christmas Spirit moment. haha
It's about showing people who do you a service that you appreciate them. I am a huge believer in doing the job you are paid to do (ramsey, fucker, I know you are at work again), but with limits. Your customers/clients/people you serve don't own you, they just buy your time during work hours. You can still appreciate the person behind the job and be thankful they do a good job. I've done some shitty jobs in my life to make enough money to house/feed my kids. Some of them sucked ass, but I did the best I could at them even though they weren't fun. I understand the power of a thank you. It is mighty. It trumps a complaint every time.
12-22-2011, 03:16 PM
I always thank people that serve me. I am a good tipper. I just don't want to tip the garbage dude or the mail dude. If they went above and beyond like bringing up the cans for me once in awhile or even picking them up when they knock them over, I might throw something their way.
And yes Cracker i am at work and yes I am slacking at this very moment. I have a raging headache that meds are not touching. I am sticking it out trying to get at least something done instead of going home sick. At least I am here to answer my phone so my collegues don't have to.
