I wonder when he'll throw her " I will never be convicted" words against her.

Martinez threw it out once earlier today, but bet he'll be tossing it out there again this afternoon.

Tiki: I liked Martinez's "it's not my fault!" theme this morning. I think he was strong in showing Arias to be the hardcore blamer that she is; using many examples from her testimony to demonstrate that Arias takes no responsibility for anything that she does.

"LIAR, PREMEDITATED KILLER, BLAMER" are screaming out to me through his closing arguments.

Martinez is doing better than I expected so far. Hope he keeps it up and stays focused on these points this afternoon.

I agree.

But his delivery, affectations and nasally voice make me want to go slap a day worker at Home Depot.

IMO he is not a gifted story teller or one who clearly ties the pieces together.

Describing the killing . . . yes.

Notice his delivery is slower, his demeanor is calm and his voice is (for lack of a better term) soothing.

Taking them by the hand and walking them through the brutal slaying while painting her as in complete control of her actions.

I loved his reminder that sympathy is not to be considered (referring to Arias' tears) while simultaneously pointing to the murderous bitch.

LaViolette did, in fact, lie her ass off on the stand. She never testified for a man in the past and lied straight to the jury about that. That's not a memory problem, that's a big fat lie. Never = never and that's not confusable with "a couple of times".

Relieved that Martinez didn't spend too long pointing out the obvious bias of LaViolette and Samuels, but I'm glad he covered it briefly.

By claiming the gun was Travis' . . . taking the gun without his permission she committed burglary and the killing becomes felony murder.

And now Martinez is hammering the fact that she stated to LE that Travis did not own a gun.

"You could be charitable and say it doesn't make sense, I'm not asking you to be charitable. It's an absolute lie."

He highlighted the 3 gun stories:

1.) Grandpa's stolen gun

2.) Travis' gun.

3.) "Only his fists" and NO gun to LE.

In other words: She's a lying bitch and she's now stuck with her lies.

Martinez was really effective overall, imo.

-He laid the story out well.

-He took the wind out of Nurmi's sails when he (presumably) tries to convince the jury tomorrow that circumstantial evidence isn't as valid as direct evidence.

-He hammered home that the defendant and her expert witnesses have no credibility.

-He reminded everyone that Travis Alexander is the INNOCENT victim.

-He summarized how Jodi Arias planned and executed a brutal cold hearted murder and staged the scene before, during and after.

-He provided a motive; Travis's words telling Jodi that she was the worst thing that ever happened to him.

I agree, Tiki, Martinez's strategy regarding the gun was very smart.

Defense closing arguments today.

Four hours of monotone Nurmi recapping the defense's case; trying to convince the jury that it's not Jodi Arias's fault that she butchered a man, lies like a rug, stalks and snoops, etc... It's Travis Alexander's fault, of course.

Nurmi's also gonna remind the jury that Travis Alexander broke his Mormon vows by having premarital sex while allowing those in his community to believe that he was still a virgin. You know, because people who keep their indiscretions and private lives private pretty much deserve to be slaughtered.

That's what's in store for today, imo.

After Nurmi wraps the defense's closing arguments, I believe that Martinez has one more shot before the jury.

The only difference is Casey never admited to killing her child but Jodi has confessed. I don't think the jury will take too long for a verdict. The way Juan worded everything there at the end; It's very clear even to this tard that She's Guilty!
