The Oscars

It wasn't even in 3D no glasses nothing, plus the movie was lame. The kids liked it but I think it was because they had these cool seats in the theatre. Lots of bathroom humor that was really numbing.

When me and my daughter and her friends saw it was in 3D with the scratchcard, there are only so many fart jokes I can take in 3D.

The Surrogate is the true story of Mark O’Brien (John Hawkes), a California-based journalist relegated to a gurney and iron lung because of disabling polio. At the age of 38, he’s still a virgin and, with the blessing of his priest (William H. Macy), Mark hires a sex surrogate (Helen Hunt) to remedy the problem.

CNN interviewed the woman who was his surrogate. She was interesting (and I mean that in a good way). I think she was very pretty when she was younger and she was surprisingly professional. She only takes clients that are referred by therapists, they have to work with a sex therapist while working with her, she coordinates treatment with the therapist etc.

Dick, maybe you should give her a call!!! She might help you find the clit!

Just shut up. Just shut the fuck up right now.

I am over all these award shows though. It seems like there is one on every week. Then we have to hear all about who went with who and who was wearing what. It gets old.

Well that is SHOCKING to say the least. Who would imagine that Ramsey would be "all over the award shows".
I bet all you cackling hens sit around the office ALL DAY on Mondays and talk about nothing but dresses and hair-dos.

I meant over them as in I don't bother with them anymore. Too many of them and they are boring.

oooo this sounds good, man-eating wolves! coming Jan. 27. Taz

What’s worse than being in a plane crash? Why, surviving only to be devoured by wolves of course. If there’s one thing to take away from “The Grey,” it’s this: if you’re ever in a plane crash and abandoned in the snowy Alaskan tundra and being chased by flesh-craving mondo wolves, you better be traveling with Liam Neeson.

this is one of the nominees, i would watch it. i hear people have gone to see it and were pissed it was a silent. duh. it was advertised as a silent.

lifted from "movies" thread:

wow this is a silent movie! but it really looks good to me. i loved some of the old silent films and the stars~"Greed", "Birth of a Nation", Jolson etc.

trailer:

http://weinsteinco.com/sites/the-artist/

Hollywood, 1927: As silent movie star George Valentin wonders if the arrival of talking pictures will cause him to fade into oblivion, he sparks with Peppy Miller, a young dancer set for a big break.

Not only is “The Artist” one of the best films of the year, it is also one of the most unique and beautiful films of the past decade.

Sure it’s a silent film -- and black and white to boot -- but you’ll love the “The Artist” because it’s made up of the best movie ingredients like classic Busby Berkeley-styled dance numbers, car chases, sword fights, epic and sweeping romantic scenes and Chaplin-esque slapstick moments, all neatly tied together in one delightful, simple story with one of the best film finales in recent years.Directed by Michel Hazanavicius (“OSS 117”) “The Artist" elegantly shows the rise and fall of silent movies and silent movie star George Valentin. Valentin accidentally makes a star out of female fan Peppy Miller, and we are taken on a wild tour of fame and celebrity and old Hollywood movie making as Peppy quickly rises to fame in talking pictures and George is left behind as an artifact of a bygone era.

I don't get into watching the Oscars like I do the Grammys. I love music. I rarely enjoy movies. There's one exception and that's watching a kids movie with my lil' man. Smiley_emoticons_biggrin

Hattie McDaniel was the first black actress to win an Academy Award for her role as "Mammy" in Gone With the Wind. Seven decades later Octavia Spencer is nominated for her role as a maid in The Help.

I love the Oscars.

I am just waiting for the moment they introduce "Best supporting caterer" and I'll be in front of millions of people. All drooling. Because of my dishes. Of course.

"I would like to thank my pan, my sautoir and my deep fryer for being this supportive all the time, etc etc etc."
