This new series has me diving into the history of Alcatraz. Never have I been into a TV series. Alcatraz to me is different. It’s bringing attention to the jail (great historic site) as well as a little mystery.
Has anyone else watched the series and is captivated by it as much as I am?

a notorious prison (not a jail) for the most dangerous, certainly a who's who of criminals.
it's on FOX, here's their website:

Holy Shit of all errors, haha, that is the one I make.
"Attention to the Prison..."
This show has definately had me looking up the history, and the actual facts of the prison.

I am intrigued by it. I am especially curious about the people who are appearing in both timelines....not the prisoners, but the others.
I am finding it interesting.

it's a very common error. mostly just criminals and cops or lawyers make the distinction.
prison is for long-term sentences. jail is for pre-trial or sentences for 1 year or less. sometimes people are in jail awaiting trial for years, but that's their lawyer's doing.

It's not a bad show but JJ Abrams doesn't have a great track record for maintaining a coherent plot over several seasons. I love Fringe to pieces, but it's a convoluted mess.
This has Sam Neill though, so I'm committed to watching just to see his rat bastard persona which he's so good at.
