a real newsman, has seen and lived some history! RIP

CBS newsman Mike Wallace, the dogged, merciless reporter and interviewer who took on politicians, celebrities and other public figures in a 60-year career highlighted by the on-air confrontations that helped make "60 Minutes" the most successful primetime television news program ever, has died. He was 93.

Wallace died Saturday night, CBS spokesman Kevin Tedesco said.

93 is pretty old. That's long enough to live.

Poignant photo. I grew up watching them & I think my standard for what I consider to be a good interview was probably set by him and his colleagues.

Wallace and Rather - you can judge the quality of their work by the fear they struck in the hearts of the SOBs they interviewed.

Most of the people they destroyed were better men than they were (are). Sure he practiced on low lifes but he didn't stop there.

Wallace reflected the deterioration in the quality of the media while Rather led it.

Watch Fox much? They'll find those weapons of mass destruction any day now. W. and Dickless Cheney said they were there, damnit!
