Beware of falling planes..........
The U.S. government is tracking an unresponsive twin engine plane now circling the Gulf of Mexico near Florida.

Contact was lost with the pilot of the Cessna, which is being tracked on radar. Officials believe the plane, which has not been identified, has less than one hour of fuel left.

SARASOTA - A propeller plane with an incapacitated pilot crashed into the Gulf of Mexico Thursday, NBC News reported.

The pilot, who is believed to have lost consciousness or died before the crash, was the only person on board.

North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said two F-15s intercepted the Cessna 421 plane at approximately 8:45 a.m. to monitor the flight after the Federal Aviation Administration lost radio contact with the pilot.

The flight took off from Slidell, La., shortly before 8 a.m. and was scheduled to land in Sarasota.

The plane was flying at about 28,000 feet approximately 150 miles south of Crestview, Fla., on the state's panhandle just before it went down.

A pilot travelling alone from Louisiana to Florida who flew spiraling in the sky for more than two hours before dropping into the Gulf of Mexico has been named as Dr. Peter Hertzak, 65, of Slidell, Louisiana.

Originally born in Zagreb, Croatia, Dr Hertzak leaves behind a wife Diana Gillmore and children Peter, 40 and Allison, 24.

The experience surgeon is credited with performing more than 2000 procedures in his career and opened his own surgical center in 2006 in New Orleans.

'Super doctor and just a regular guy that would do anything for anybody.'
