A gay porn actor is suspected in the killing of his acquaintance, videotaping and posting online the man's dismemberment and mailing the severed limbs to different locations in Ottawa, including to a political party's headquarters, according to a source with direct knowledge of the investigation.

Authorities are searching for Luka Rocco Magnotta, 29, who they say is allegedly responsible for a human torso discovered in Montreal, thought to be linked to a human hand and foot that were separately mailed from Montreal to Ottawa.

Magnotta, also known as Eric Clinton Newman, is a Montreal resident who allegedly knew the victim, identified only as a white male, Montreal police spokesman Ian Lafreniere told reporters on Wednesday.

The suspect has no criminal background, and his image and information related to him were later recovered from a "very graphic" website, Lafreniere said.

The source later confirmed that at least one of the websites examined by authorities was a pornographic site.

It's possible the body parts all came from the same dismembered victim, Lafreniere said, but police are still awaiting the results of forensic testing for confirmation.

"The two parts of the body that were found in Ottawa... we've got all the reasons to believe that it's linked to our homicide," he added, referring to the human torso found in Montreal.

Authorities said they are asking the public for help in locating Magnotta, after a "coast-to-coast" warrant was issued for his arrest. Police say they plan to charge him with murder once he's apprehended.

Lafreniere said authorities have also found other body parts, potentially from the same attack, which is believed to have been committed in Montreal. It would be the 11^th homicide there this year.

"It wasn't a random attack," Lafreniere noted. "They knew each other."

Lafreniere added that Magnotta had been "involved in some stuff on the web, that's for sure," though he would not elaborate.

The human foot was sent to the Conservative Party of Canada headquarters in Ottawa, prompting a hazardous materials team to investigate. The officers who responded noticed what appeared to be bloodstains on the box, police said.

Ottawa police Sgt. Steve Hodgson told reporters outside the office that the package had been addressed to the Conservative Party. Staffers had begun to open the package before calling police, he said.

The hand was intercepted by workers at a Montreal postal terminal.

Ottawa's major-crimes unit is checking with other police departments for similar cases and looking back through missing-persons files for any clues, according to Constable Marc Soucy, an Ottawa police spokesman.

"We're going to look at every avenue," he said.

In Montreal, the human torso was found behind an apartment building, authorities said.

A low-budget porn actor suspected of sending dismembered body party to offices across Canada allegedly filmed himself hacking his victim's body up with an ice-pick and then posted the sickening video online.

Luka Rocco Magnotta, 29, is the subject of a massive manhunt after a man's maggot-ridden torso was found in a locked suitcase by his Montreal apartment block.

The sickening 'snuff video' footage, called '1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick' and uploaded last week, shows a naked male tied to a bed frame being attacked with both an ice pick and a kitchen knife.

The Best Gore website says the film, which is unclear where or when it was filmed, then shows the victim being stabbed and having his throat slashed to the soundtrack of True Faith by New Order.

He is later decapitated, dismembered and sexually assaulted. It is believed he was already dead when the camera started rolling.

The man in the video, whose face is never revealed, then goes on to play with the corpse's body parts in a 'sexual manner'.

Doubt was initially cast on the veracity of the film but police have now confirmed 'it depicts the actual crime', the National Post reports.

Yesterday, police in masks combed through the blood-soaked Montreal studio apartment where the torso was discovered. A blood stained mattress remained there after they left.

Police Commander Ian Lafreniere said: 'For most of the officers that were there all night long this is the kind of crime scene they've never seen in their career.'

Police said Magnotta is also known by the names Eric Clinton Newman and Vladimir Romanov. They described him as white, 5ft 8in tall, with blue eyes and black hair.

This is so disturbing. Not that it matters much, but the police confirmed that he indeed did date Karla Homolka, herself a murderer was married to one and dated another murderer, how these sick people find each I don't know.

"We received many calls because a lot of people were shocked about this story," Lafrenière said.

"This is a very, very . . deranged person, so a lot of people have called and we got details now. [We've] been getting better info."

He said police are holding some information back to weed out false leads from the public.

He also uses a knife and fork to slice a piece of fatty flesh from the victim’s rear, and then brings in a dog to eat the purported corpse.

OTTAWA, Ontario – A porn actor wanted in a case where body parts from a dismembered corpse were mailed to places including the Conservative Party headquarters might have fled North America, Canadian police said Thursday.

Montreal Police Cmdr. Ian Lafreniere said police believe Luka Rocco Magnotta fled based on evidence they found at his apartment, and based on a blog Magnotta once wrote about how to disappear.

The 29-year-old Magnotta has been added to Interpol's wanted person's list.

"We believe he may be in a foreign country," Lafreniere told The Associated Press. "He left a letter on a website mentioning how to disappear for good, and secondly our investigation brought us some details that might let us think that he could be away from the country."

Lafreniere said they have an idea where he might have fled but declined to say where.

Lafreniere also said police have been trying to take down an online video that they believe shows Magnotta committing the murder. The video shows a man stabbing another man with an ice pick while the victim lies naked and tied up. The first man later reveals he has slashed the other man's throat. He also dismembers the corpse and performs sexual acts with it.

Lafreniere said they were able to take down the video Tuesday night but that it keeps reappearing online.

For the sake of the victim i hope he really was dead before the camera started rolling. Would that be your guess LC? (as you said you watched it EDIT: just saw jez asked the same thing above) Since they mentioned the song that was playing i assume there was audio recorded as well? Unless he took the time to edit in music to the video...doubt it tho. Or that at least is possible to tell whether the victim is reacting at all?

As curious as i can be, i think i can pass on watching it. Even if i do give in i doubt i'd watch more than a minute. Some of the details reported by the media are enough to get my stomach churning.

I wonder if they were able to identify the dog as being Magnotta's? I'm guessing the dog didn't comply with eating the corpse? Unless what they actually meant by that was to eat the piece of ass meat he cut off?
