Sleeping problems.
#1
Seems like quite a few of us here having trouble sleeping. Why is that? Always on Sunday nights I lay awake for hours. I can take 3 Unisom's and still not sleep more than a few hours. I know I think about things I need to do at work and home in the upcoming week. But I think about that stuff all the time. Family things have been on my mind - brother and his kids which is only adding to the list of things whirling around in my mind. Several of my friends that are close to my age also have difficulty sleeping. One take Lunesta every night but still wakes up at 4am every morning no matter how late she stays up. Another wakes up every hour to hour an a half.

What is keeping us all awake???? Age? Thoughts? Stress? I just want one decent nights sleep.

Sleep deprivation is the oldest form of torture known to man, if you were truly sleep deprived you would know it and wouldn't need a pill to fall asleep.

When I find myself awake thinking about things I tell myself to forget it because I know there is nothing I can do about it now and think of something I enjoy instead, like the baby dancing or remodeling the house. In your case it would be chatting with strange men on the internet, you'll be asleep within 5 minutes.

This will sound corny, but when my head hits the pillow and I want to fall asleep, I'll simply review my most recent round of golf in my head, shot by shot, and it seems like I never get past the first hole.

And, so would they.

3 or 4 years ago I trashed both shoulders while on a night job down in miami. First time I could never get in the day sleeping thing. I was sleeping maybe 2 hrs a day, working nights, some days, but couldn't sleep in the daytime. After 3 weeks I was a fuking zombie, couldn't stay asleep, couldn't stay awake. Finally got a script for Lunesta, took the first one and slept for 7 hrs, it was like getting jesus. Still don't sleep well most of the time, off the pills and do camomile tea at night, helps a lot. I also take a shower at night with my home made lavendar soap, its the little things..

I tried those sleeping pills and they gave me Alice in Wonderland dreams along with crazy sleepwalking, sleepeating, sleepalmostdriving behavior.

I then realized all it took was a couple of beers and a xanax makes it all right.

I keep a book by my bed and when I wake up periodically I just grab that sucker, read for 5 mins and it gets me sleepy again. I have one of those book light thingee so I don't disturb my husband.

I rarely have a problem trying to sleep. Get up between 3:00-4:00 AM and you won't either.

I sleep pretty well, usually 9:30 or so til 4 then 4:30 til 6 or 7. That second stint is crazy rem time. Deep dreams.

I find when I smoke less pot during the day I dream more frequently during sleep. But I have no trouble falling asleep or staying asleep in that template.
