Christopher Marks, 12, confirmed dead. MO.
#41
Anthony Kieko

(KPLR) – Monday family and friends lay to rest Christopher Marks, remembering his laugh, his love of sports and his friendship.

Marks drowned in the Meramec River, last week. His body was found after a long search.

The funeral was a somber scene, cameras weren’t allowed inside, however, FOX2 cameras were the only one’s rolling for the touching tribute that followed.

Mourners wrote meaningful messages on a lantern set to rise in the sky in honor of Chris Marks. The 12-year-old was found dead in the Meramec River after vanishing August 5th.

Family members tell me he had been drinking.

After burying her brother, 15-year-old Katie marks says she’s committed to curbing underage drinking. Chris’s family says they have a lot of questions about his death, including how he got the alcohol.

But as the lantern is lit and it begins to rise, their thoughts and prayers are with Chris.

Family members say they want the person who gave Chris the alcohol to be charged with a crime.

Police are using an aquatic expert to help with the investigation.

Christopher Marks’ Step-Dad Has Revoked DL For Repeated DUI

Fox2

AFFTON, MO (KTVI)– The drowning death earlier this month of 12-year-old Christopher marks was tragic and disturbing, but what makes it more unsettling is what investigator Chris Hayes uncovered about the child’s step-father.

Step-Dad Todd Combs was reportedly with Marks and six other children, during an outing along the Meramec river August 5th. He was reportedly drinking with the kids that weekend. His involvement with alcohol certainly did not start there.

FOX 2 found court records indicating Combs is a seven time DUI offender. Combs even served prison time for DUIs and the courts revoked his license, yet we caught him driving to get a pack of cigarettes.

One court record show that after Combs’ “4th DWI” he “denied alcohol use was problematic.” The court record documents him saying he believed DWIs were due to “bad luck.”

The State of Missouri confirms it revoked the license of Todd Combs, until the year 20-14.

Fox2 watched him drive to a gas station where he refilled his tank and bought a carton of cigarettes. Chris Hayes caught up with him and asked him…
“(Hayes) Why are you driving with your license revoked?”
Combs had no answer.
“(Hayes) How do you explain multiple DUIs and in three different states?”
No answer.
“(Hayes) How much alcohol did you give those kids the weekend of August 5th?
Combs shut his front door on reporter Hayes.

During the search for 12-year-old Marks, his sister told reporters about the drinking.

Christopher Marks grandmother says they’ve heard from kids who were with Step-Dad Combs that August 5th weekend, reporting that he bought them Bud Light, Captain Morgan rum and a malt liquor called 4 Loko. <---that loko shit is banned in many states! too strong! has killed people. mostly young, because it tastes sweet. goes down like a fruit drink.
Legalized cocaine in a can. If you consume Four Lokos you can expect to encounter the same results typically associated with snorting a small mountain of cocaine.

St. Louis County police continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the 12 year old’s drowning and are awaiting toxicology results that could tell us how much alcohol Marks drank.

Fox2 also made a legal request to Saint Louis County Police asking for all calls to Step-Dad Combs’ address. A printout. lists 24 calls in 2011 and 2012 for things like “peace disturbance” and “domestic.”

As details emerge about the step-dad, he appears to be nothing but an enormous douche-bag who adds zero value to society.

I say we deport him to Saudi Arabia for an immediate beheading.

Jesus he bought all that shit and let kids have access to it? My parents would let me have an occasional mikes hard lemonade when i was like 14 (i was too big of a sissy to push it too far, didn't wanna lose my privileges...don't think i ever had more than 2 within a couple hours)

But good god...captain Morgan and 4 loko? I kno ppl of age who won't fuck with loko. What a stand-up guy....

They didn't take a break but rather suspended unsafe searches while keeping a skeletal crew. Personally, I think they were just setting some folks up to see where they would go and what they would do.

So stepdad gives Chris and other kids alcohol, Chris disappears to go swimming and his body is found by stepdad a day and a half later? I will withhold judgement until LE confirms that the body is Chris, but something is starting to smell really bad.

LE WAS preventing family from searching in what they called the "crime scene" but they never said you will be arrested if you searh elsewhere. As a matter of fact the night before friends and family were given parameters of where they could look but no HELP organizing effectively. The step father went outside the "crime scene" the day he "
found" the body!

Facebook is a great place for photos but isn't it such an interesting thought that Todd was never in the media shots during the initial search?? You can see him from the helicopter views at the area of the body- just no close up!

There are reports all kids were drinking- how long is a minute when you are mentally compromised? I suspect it wasn't just a "minute" .

Flaming Bitch, if you lived in Saudi Arabia you'd be beheaded for this crime.

But, because you live in Missouri, you'll simply be required to model some various buttplugs, of LC's choice, and submit a few pics.

I'd say that's a win-win for everyone involved.
