DOD has issued two clarifications to its flu PA guidance:

1. Per direction of the Homeland Security Council (HSC) via the National
Joint Information Center (NJIC) EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY - the use of the term
"Swine Flu" should be discontinued. The current influenza situation should
be referred to as "H1N1 Flu Outbreak."

2. DoD has developed contingency plans to address a pandemic in the U.S.,
if required the department will follow procedures to ensure the health of
the force, and provide appropriate support to the American public.
