You supposed to say lets see those...

Today I saw someone's spice cabinet. It is a thing of beauty and puts mine to shame. I have shit sitting on top of each other, you have to pull spices out in order to see what it is and what's behind it. If I had to look at it everyday it would look so much better, but I don't, it's behind a door. I hope this inspires me to do something, to take control of the cluster fuck that's my spice cabinet and organize that crap.

I find it better to put the spices in drawers if you have any to spare. I have two drawers that I use for spices and it's easier to find them and keep them organized.

I can see the appeal of having them in drawers.
Hers are on risers, for lack of a better term, similar to what bleachers look like and they are fricken alphabetized it looked so great.

The new house is going to have a butler's pantry that I'm going to design for perfect organization. I've never had a walk in pantry much less a butler's pantry the size of another kitchen hidden behind a door. I'm excited about that.

That is awesome.
One of the projects I did w/ my mom this winter is clean out her spice cabinet-maybe I already posted about it somewhere. She had spices from so long ago, I was glad we finally got rid of them. I know a chef that keeps some of his fancy spices in round containers that are magnets on the side of his fridge. I sometimes buy spices in bags at the local organic store and have to find containers to put them in.

Also I came to this thread to say I fell in love w/ lemongrass scent today. I've been using scents to try to keep out pests-which isn't really working at all anyway, but at least the place smells good.

I've seen some spectacular looking pantries, they are organized to perfection. I don't want to have to use any of that stuff but simply looking around would make me happy every time I saw it. I love beautiful kitchens, I just don't want to have to use it.

I am going to have a couple though.

The more things that are in the open, the harder it is to dust.
I hate dust almost as much as I hate dusting.
