. . . . . . the fuck are there so many cars on the road going to work with only a "single person/driver" in the car? Yesterday, I went on an 80 mile o/w trip, and noticed 95% of the cars with just the driver. Same thing on the way back.
With the astronomical price of gas these days, one would think that many people would want to start "car pooling" to save money.
$50 to $60 a week (or more) to fill the gas tank is serious money.
I passed commuter parking lots where they were less then 1⁄4 full, so I'm curious, what gives?

I hate carpooling. I don't want to wait on anyone, and I don't want anyone waiting on me. I'm too much of a loner to be tied down to something like that. After missing two important appointments waiting on someone else, I was done.

I too hate carpooling. I want to be by myself. I have already seen these people at work all day----why do I want to listen to them ramble on about their kids/money/husbands all the way to and from work. Life is too short---that is precious alone time that I would NEVER get back.

Yes, I don't like carpools as well, if you're fortunate enough to be able not to have to do it that's great. However, I am surprised that it seems so many people are willing (able) to pay $60 or more per week to commute to work. ($240+ /mo kinda steep)
Many years ago, I used to travel only 36 miles o/w to work. It was during the time of the fictitious "gas shortage". Therefore, I was forced to have to car pool, I hated it. As soon as gas became more "available", I dropped out of the carpool.

Meh, most of the girls I work with are ok and I wouldn't mind car pooling once in a while. But all of us have kids and all of us have different schedules picking up and dropping them off so it would be difficult. Besides, I want to leave when I want to leave. I don't want to wait for someone else.

Were you by yourself on this trip? That would be sort of ironic.

Uh . . . . . no, my better half was with me. And neither one of us was going to work. We were going to visit our friends, the Indians.
