Unleaded regular here just came down to "$3.89" gal!
And just got "heating oil" delivery here two weeks ago at $3.79 gal .
(could be worse, last year oil was $4.24 gal)
(but winter season is just starting, so.)
Glad to be heading South in 3 weeks, so will then be able to drop thermostat from 78 to 60)

Today, filling that baby up would cost you an additional $60!

When I see the title to this thread I think of that Jim Stafford song "spiders & snakes" Do you remember when......and would you like to get together again.......she said I'll seeee you after school.

Ok that's great, but how much does it cost to fill your gas tank?

Why are you derailing this lovely thread by talking about petrol?

Its $3.29 a gallon here in Iowa.
Back in the early 70's I was able to fill my bike and get a pack of smokes [using a note from my dad. OK, OK, I wrote the note but they still took it, LMAO!] and get change back from a buck. Man it was a great time to be a kid.

Just filled up. $3.87 here in SF / filled the truck for $43; the lowest in a long time.
It's the first time in quite a while that I'll be able to drive from SF to LA for less than the cost of flying.

Back when gas was 35c you spent silver. Today that same 35c in silver will purchase you another gallon of gas.
Gas hasn't gone up in price. The value of money has gone down.
