Did you do any decorating, Clang? Do you have a tree? User's is in the garage :(
@MS, my son was giving me grief about the tree this morning. It's all my husband's fault! The ornaments are up high and the boxes are heavy and awkward. If I tried to get them down, I'm pretty sure I'd fall off the step ladder and get crushed by the ornaments and hanging bikes and stuff. I think he's going to get them down tonight.
No tree, but we are putting a Nativity and other decorations tonight.

Make sure you epoxy Jesus in, I heard something on the news today that it's become a big thing with the teens to steal the baby Jesus and put the animals in suggestive posistions. It's terrible.

I live in a small hick village and my Nativity is inside the house on the living room table, not the front lawn. Thanks for the concern but I think baby Jesus will be safe.

Progress is slow. The tree is in the house but it's still naked.

Not even a skirt? Shameful.
I don't have stockings or even my table-top tree out this year, so you're ahead of me; chained to the work phones and database/email.
I'm actually looking forward to getting caught up on lots of things for work and home on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. New Years is gonna be more like a late Christmas for me this year.
Gonna pour a glass of wine - it's pretty slow. Cheers and happy decorating...

Hey user, your kids didn't care that there were no Christmas decorations up?

This is the first year we've put so little up, so late. I finally got some lights on the tree but I'm still waiting for Mr. User to get the damn ornaments down.
My daughter doesn't seem terribly bothered by it but my son is convinced Christmas is gonna suck this year. It won't (after all I did get him that damn iPhone 4s he wanted even though his plan wasn't up for renewal) but I need to snap out of it. I'm not sure why, but I'm very late feeling anything like the holiday spirit this year. I think all the bad news in the media and stuff hasn't helped.
I wouldn't have dreamed of being this late when the kids were younger but they're almost 14. If we pull all the stuff down, they can put it up around the house if they want.

Sometimes I'm like that, but every year on Christmas eve I feel it. if only for a few minutes but I still feel it and wish for peace on earth.

It was amazing how putting shit up snapped me out of my funk.

Your tree turned out really nice. I can see how decorating and having the tree lit up would be a funk-lifter.
I saw your dog's stocking in the photo, but you mentioned earlier that you have a couple of cats too. Reminded me of how it used to drive my dad crazy when our cats would nab the hanging ornaments from the bottom of the tree and bat 'em all over the house.

Nativity up, lots of sheep, six wisemen(the other 3 are apparently the "Kings of Jeruselum". Yeah right, devout Catholic Mom.*rollseyes*), 2 camels, 2 donkeys.
We even have 2 table top artificial trees with lights and ornaments, and a small glass tree.

Yup, have 2 cats. They're both a little up there in years, so they've kind of outgrown that shit, methinks. If it's not alive and moving, I don't think they're interested. Plus, one of them never comes inside anymore. I was concerned about Buddy, as this was his first Christmas with tempting things laying around, but so far, the only interest he shows in the tree is when the cat is underneath it.

Our dogs were always pretty mellow, but we had some crazy cats in the house when I was growing up.
It was fun for us kids to watch 'em snag the ornaments. But, my dad got so tired of it one year that he put a tinsel garland border around the lower part of the tree and made us move all of the ornaments "above the line!", "above the line!" on Christmas Eve. He was so serious; it was hard not to laugh. It worked though.
In answer to thread title: stockings still not hung - but I'm hanging them and pulling out a couple of decorations tomorrow morning.
