Armed 70-Year-Old Women’s Basketball Coach Shoots Attackers While Walking Two Players to Their Cars
By: Madeleine Morgenstern

A 70-year-old women’s high school basketball coach shot and killed one would-be mugger and injured another while walking two players to their cars Friday night in Detroit, WXYZ-TV reported.

Police said the coach, who has not been named, was approached by two teens who tried to rob him in the parking lot of Martin Luther King High School as he walked with two girls around 7:30 p.m, WDIV-TV reported. One of the attackers died and the other was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Sources told WXYZ the coach was also a reserve police office with a license to carry a concealed pistol. One of the teens was also armed with a gun.

According to WDIV, both teens were students at the high school, though the one who died had recently been expelled.

Good!

We need to see more stories like this but they aren't nearly as provocative as a nutfuck shooting up a bunch of little kids.

I don't see much good in it.

Sure, the tables were turned for a change, and the 'good guy' won, but somebody is still dead. Probably somebody that the system failed. And promoting it as a win for the good guys won't stop the system failing the next one. Or the one after that. It won't be a deterrent for them either.

All it is is food for the patsys to divert their attention from the system.

We have plenty of city laboratories that continue to be the 'system'. Chicago, Baltimore, Oakland, Detroit... all have spent hundreds of billions of dollars each over many decades... all spent on welfare, housing, work programs, crime prevention... you name it, they've spent exorbitant amounts of money to solve the problem. All in an effort to give the downtrodden and minorities a fair shake, and lift them up.

And all those cities are a monument to complete and abject failure of the 'system'. They are crime infested cesspools, and the poor are as worse off as they ever have been.

Yet the 'system' refuses to change, and continually does the same thing over and over again... somehow expecting a different result.

So Crash is right in a way... there isn't much good about a citizen having to gun down thugs. It's a harsh example of how the systems have failed over and over and over again.

That said, I'm glad the thugs got gunned down instead of the coach and his players. Given what is happening in Detroit, that was just as likely an outcome.

Pfft. Like I care about someone who is killed while committing a crime. I'll play my tiny violin for the dead loser right after I high five the shooter. 78

Crime is a choice, always has been; always will be.

Sorry, but I don't buy the "system" excuse.

Far too many innocent people are killed by PREDATORS in situations such as this. Thankfully, the tables got turned......

I'm one of the old breed that still believes the best determent is punishment or the mindset of the criminal thinking he may not want to fuck with someone due to the fact THEY may get a cap busted in THEIR ass.
Foolish me,huh?
I also think the laws should be changed more in the direction of not to protect the lowlife committing the crime when he winds up injured and wants to sue but throwing out the dipshit lawsuit and drop kicking his ass in the slammer.

I bet more than a few have stopped and thought twice before doing something. The problem is that they move on and find a weaker victim as they thought this lady was. A win win situation all around.

Michael Scott, 16, was shot and killed during the attack at the Detroit school parking lot. One of the young men allegedly pulled a gun on the coach. The Michigan coach reached in his pocket for his own weapon and fired back. The other alleged attacker was seriously injured.

Priscilla Scott, the mother of the alleged teen robber told My Fox Detroit that her son did not own a gun. Both of the young robbery suspects once reportedly attended Martin Luther King Junior High School. One of the teenagers had allegedly been expelled from the Michigan school.

The mother of the boy killed says that her son did not own a gun. Well, no, he can't own one legally but he had one just the same.

Placing bets on whether the injured punk will try and sue the coach.

I concider myself to be a functional part of "the system", an armed part. So, looks to me like the system worked.
