Mr. Hundley pleaded "not guilty" to assault of a minor in federal court yesterday. Hundley is scheduled to appear again in court on April 9. According to the San Francisco Gate, he admitted to calling the baby a nigger. But neither the Gate report nor the WGAL Georgia story indicate whether the Idaho man denies also slapping the baby or is intead pleading "not guilty" for other reasons.

His lawyer, Ms. Shein, made a press statement after the hearing:
"Mr. Hundley had been up for 24 hours over this tragic news (HOTD: that his son had OD'd on insulin) and was heading to Atlanta to decide, with his son's mother, if they should take him off life support as he had no brain activity.
