Lucky bitch!
Hospital worker, Mavis Wanczyk, 53, came forward Thursday afternoon as the $758.7 million winner of the Massachusetts State Lottery's Powerball jackpot. 'My pipe dream came true,' Wanczyk said at a news conference. Wanczyk, of Chicopee, bought the lucky ticket that matched all five numbers - 6, 7, 16, 23 and 26 - and the Powerball, 4, at the Pride Station and Store in Chicopee, Massachusetts.
The smiling mother-of-two said she chose the winning numbers based on her family's birthdays. Wanczyk, who was joined by her mother and two sisters, doesn't plan to return to work. She said her dream of early retirement has finally come true. 'I called them and told them I will not be coming back,' she said as she laughed. Wanczyk said her colleague brought it to her attention that she had won the jackpot as they were driving home Wednesday night. She was leaving work from Mercy Medical Center with a Chicopee firefighter, and as they were discussing the Powerball, he looked at her ticket and told her she'd won. Unable to drive anywhere or do anything due to shock, Wanczyk said her colleague made sure she got home safely.
She chose to take a lump sum payment of $480 million, or $336 million after taxes, according to lottery officials. Wanczyk, who has worked for the hospital for 32 years, said the first thing she wants to do is sit back and relax.

I don't play any lottery games. But, man, it would be nice to be sitting on over $300,000,000 after taxes.
I don't need that much money and think I'd donate a lot to Diabetes, Alzheimer's, and cancer research.
But..........I'd definitely keep at least $50,000,000 for myself and my family. It would be great to retire, buy a nice Victorian home and do whatever I wanted with it, travel, and volunteer.

Why don't you play? I don't play much either, but when it's big I figure I can spend a couple of bucks and hope.
I'd probably give away 10 million to family, friends and charity. Maybe not even that much, fuck all those people now that I think about it.

I'm not much of a gambler because several members of my family have serious gambling addictions. I've had to loan them money or spend hours trying to track them down at casinos so many times in my life. It really put me off to any form of gambling, I guess. Once in a while I like to play black jack or poker though.
Plus.......I voted against the California lottery because I figured it would just give them and other addictive personalities another option to throw their money away and I didn't believe the revenue generated was almost all gonna go to the schools (which, of course, is not where most of it goes). Everyone else in my family, except the niece who lives with me, plays the lottery religiously. None of them have gotten more out of it than they put in.
It would be very cool to win though. Maybe next time there's a big jackpot, I'll play.

It crossed my mind that you may have had a gambling addiction, but I couldn't really picture that. It's like the Golden Girls episode where Dorothy was addicted to gambling and they busted her betting on the horses .

I don't think my life would change too much if I won.
However, for as long as I've thought about such things, I have wanted a log cabin. This appeals to me.

That was a good episode.
I think I'm more like Dorothy, personality-wise, than the other Golden Girls. My mom is a cross between Sophia and Rose. My older sister is a lot like Blanche. My younger sisters would definitely fit in better on Real Housewives of Orange County -- non-stop drama and feuding.

The only way my friends and family would get any of my lottery winnings would be if they worked for me as my maids, butler, chauffeur, etc. $1.00 an hour. Then I'd hire a Hispanic woman at $2.00 an hour to further fuck with them.
