Holy shit! I would not live or vacation in a place that had spiders that size. Uh-uh, no way.

That was one downer about our trip to Italy. In the countryside where we were staying there were scorpions (found one in the villa) and these giant, flying bugs (of different types that I'd never seen before) that would dive bomb you. I fucking hated it. No screens on the windows either so I'd close our window at night and those bastards would be hitting it all night long trying to get in and have me for dinner. Yuk is right.

With our warmer than normal weather, the scorpions and rattlers are out and about, a bit early.

Killed two scorpions yesterday near the pool filter.

Sneaky little bastards.

I'm so glad there is nothing like that here. We did once find a young 'possum in the pool on one of the floating chaise though.

Oh *shudders*. I don't like those things at all. The other thing that I imagine you would have in abundance is....black widow spiders!

Panic

My mom gets those at her house in Palm Springs sometimes. They're just the ugliest things. Fat, shiny spiders. Blurg.

I like spiders. I don't want them crawling on me or anything, but I get them to crawl on a broom and put them outside when I find them in the house.

Does she attend the film festival?

Does she like tennis?

Does she buy her gas at Von's?

Does she date guys from Cathedral City or Indio?

What's her favorite casino?

Do you have a picture of yourself and the kids at the Sonny Bono statue?

Have you looked up Marilyn's skirt?

User, you have Trantulas out there damn near big as a dinner plate.
I have seen them flat footed jump on top of a car.

I would run. I do not mind most spiders, as long as they respect my space Smiley_emoticons_smile Running quickly from that spider....it does not look like it is interested in respecting my space hah

Hey....a little assistance with my denial...?

I know they're out there. I actually had one in another house I owned years ago when I first moved to the area. That said, in all the years I've lived here, I haven't seen another in the wild. If I went looking for them (not going to happen) I'm sure I could find them and rattlesnakes to boot. Stick to the trails, folks.

Does she attend the film festival?...Nope

Does she like tennis?....Nope.

Does she buy her gas at Von's?...Only if that's the cheapest place in town.

Does she date guys from Cathedral City or Indio?...That's my mom!! She's prohibited from dating. j/k

What's her favorite casino?....I'm sure she's been at least a few times but she's not a regular. Now that you mention it, I've never been to any of the casinos there.

Do you have a picture of yourself and the kids at the Sonny Bono statue?...No

Have you looked up Marilyn's skirt?...No

Palm Spring's day has come and gone. My mom isn't bothered by the heat and she's got a pool at her house so she finds it relaxing. When we go there, we might (correction, my husband might) take the kids on the tram, go to the water park etc. I won't visit there in the summer; it's just too damn hot.

My daughter is backpedaling on Coachella a bit. I might have a couple of tickets for sale, Tiki.

I didn't think I had anything like that in my state but some of your comments inspired me to check. I'm so sorry I did, sometimes ignorance truly is bliss. My skin is crawling. *shudders*

We have wolf spiders, brown recluse & black widow. I read because of my proximity to the ocean and all the wetlands we have something called a fishing spider, Jesus Christ, it walks on water and dives for small fish. We have ground spiders who don't build a web, instead choosing to chase their prey and attack. My arms have goose bumps.
