A lawmaker from Tennessee had proposed a bill that held parents accountable for how their children performed in school. These weren't just any parents, it pertained only to parents receiving public assistance.
Personally, I thought it was a great idea. I do think it's sucky that one would have to be told (forced) to be accountable for their kids but hey, we know how that goes, particularly for those on welfare, if they are educated they might have to get a fuckin' job and pay their own way.
...anyway, he withdrew his proposal because someone had the bright idea to get a little kid to follow him around all day in an attempt to shame him, it worked.
