walking while black - Trayvon Martin
"I wanted to say I am sorry for the loss of your son," Zimmerman said in an unusual appeal directly to Martin's family before he testified in the Seminole County Courthouse in Sanford. "I thought he was a little bit younger than I was, and I did not know if he was armed or not."

Trayvon's parents call the statement defensive and self-serving. I don't see why it matters how old Zimmerman claims he thought Trayvon was.

Another good update here:

From what? Being watched?

You say watched, I say stalked and chased. Zimmerman told the 911 operator that Trayvon was running away.

I have always told my kids if they're approached by a stranger, they should run and scream and fight if caught. Maybe Zimmerman caught up to him and just grabbed him by his damn hoodie. Was the kid wrong for fighting under that scenario?

I don't think so. The guy was not a cop.

Zimmerman has lost a bunch of weight. I call it the "Trayvon Diet." I would further this thought, but it is the crime forum...

You are not going to let go of your bone, no matter where the truth lies. Just admit it.

I'm making suppositions as compared to your definitive statements. You're the one with a bone, Fido.

You saw a bloody head. Maybe he hit himseld in the back of the head with the gun after he chased that poor innocent kid down and murdered him in cold blood.

Or maybe you are wrong...

"The person who took the photograph of a bloodied Zimmerman, asking not to be identified, told ABC News exclusively that they did not see the scuffle that night, but did hear it. The person recalled seeing Martin's prostrate body on the wet grass and said the gunpowder burns on Martin's gray hoodie were clearly visible."

So I guess Zimmerman ran up to him to shoot him. Because when you have a gun, you get as close as possible to the person, especially if you are really scared. Hence the powder burns...

i have 2 comments about today. i still do not have a 100% conviction in this case as to guilt or innocence.

Z getting on the stand to give an unwanted late apology was NOT the right time and place, and seemed very contrived and calculated.

and REALLY getting ahead of myself...that bloody head photo is going to go a long way to getting this tossed out in an immunity hearing. if not then, an acquittal later.
assuming ABC didn't doctor up that photo. hah

Please review what I posted. I said maybe Zimmerman chased him and caught him by the collar (or some such thing) and Trayvon turned around and started fighting and yeah, tackled him and Zimmerman's head hit the concrete. Is that wrong? Would you tell your kids they should stand perfectly still in the face of an unknown adult chasing them?

Jesus.

In that supposed scenario, where is Trayvon's right to stand his ground?

I don't live in a black neighborhood for a reason. We don't need a neighborhood watch here. My kids don't have to worry about stuff like that.

That apology encompasses what Zimmerman's first defense lawyer was propagating in his interviews with media. Still don't know why it should matter how old Zimmerman claims he thought Trayvon was, EXCEPT that it looks better to the public that he thought he was pursuing a "possibly armed" adult. Trayvon's age shouldn't make any difference legally, AFAIK.

Cracker: I'm still waiting for the facts from the investigation before I convict Zimmerman of the suspected crime in my mind. I have serious doubts about the legitmacy of the original investigators and prosecutors and really want to hear the evidence. Still think the fact that Zimmerman ignored the 911 dispatcher's advice not to pursue is damning.

well thats a game changer isnt it? Except it almost looks staged. And why is this just being released today, on the day of his hearing?

Yep, if it can be substantiated that the photo is legit and that the head wounds came from having his head pounded against the ground. Not sure how it can be proven who was acting in self-defense in that scenario without an eyewitness. I hope the voice analysis of the 911 call with the "help" cries in the background can definitively determine who was calling out. If it was Trayvon, makes it hard to think that there would be any legitmate cause for Zimmerman to shoot him. If it's Zimmerman, might help his case, even if he is determined to have pursued unwisely.

For some reason, the prosectuor still thinks they have a second degree murder case; need to see more.

It's been clear from the start that Zimmerman followed and approached the kid. I don't believe for a second Trayvon walked up to him and attacked him. Thanks to the niggers, they're causing the crackers to have as clouded perception.

I read somewhere that he didn't chase Trayvon the entire time. Trayvon was out of his sight for over a minute. If that is true, it means there is more to this story.

I heard someone call a white person a cracker today. I laughed. You usually don't hear that too much. They hide it, along with "White Devil."

Even if it seems unbelievable that Trayvon proactively attacked or ambushed Zimmerman, can it be proven that he didn't? With no eyewitnesses and only Zimmerman left to tell the tale, he and his defense team can make good use of the head injury photos (if they're substantiated). No one to refute the story. The 911 dispatcher's advice not to pursue and possibly the voice analysis are the best pieces of evidence against Zimmerman "standing his ground" or "self defense" that have been released, imo. I'm still anxious to see the autopsy results.

Zimmerman should never have talked to the police and given statements without an attorney present. And he has been going to college for criminal justice? Today the prosecutor said he has given 3 statements? And that he contradicted himself and changed it up to fit whatever question was being asked. Lots of contradictions. Detectives are kind of trained to detect those things. What a dumbass.

Just today Zimmerman contradicted himself when he said he thought Trayvon was close to his age (mid to late twenties). On the night of the murder, Zimmerman told (non) 911 that the kid looked to be in his late teens.

Zimmerman knows what he did. You can see it in the twitchy eye movements.

Yep. Unless there's convincing evidence to the contrary, I can see Zimmerman walking.
