ORLANDO, Florida (AP) -- A 26-year-old man was convicted of vehicular homicide after a car-surfing stunt that may have been inspired by the television show 'Jackass' killed his 18-year-old friend in 2008.
Michael A. Smith was sentenced Jan. 21 to four years in prison, followed by 11 years probation. Judge Alan Apte also ruled that Smith's driver's license will be permanently revoked.
