My browsing activity has been restricted

It says my browsing activity has been restricted because my system has been infected with Propagating Malicious Spyware. When I try to leave the page I get a loud buzzer that sounds like the freaking Emergency Broadcast System.

I called the toll free number for immediate assistance which they advised, but I keep getting Indian people that hang up on me.

Anyone know how I can get that off my laptop or am I stuck either trying to talk to the Indians or taking it to a repair shop?

That's happened to me on the office desktop several times; annoying as hell.

I'm glad nobody answered you sally. The first time it happened to me, someone answered immediately and told me it would cost $199 to solve the problem. I asked a few questions about the organization's affiliation and the nature of the problem and it was obvious that they were total scammers.

Turn off your computer and reboot. It'll go away, but might happen again because it seems to happen to me on certain types of sites/links. Just turn off your computer and reboot every time. I've never had any problems with viruses.
