MARION COUNTY, Fla. -- A 15-year-old boy was killed after being lured to a home Sunday night, and six people were arrested for their involvement in his death, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said Seath Tyler Jackson of Belleview was lured to a home, located on S.E. 53rd Avenue in Summerfield, and killed. Deputies said they arrested six people on Tuesday, ranging in ages from 15 to 37 for their involvement in Jackson’s death.
WFTV spoke with Jackson's closest friends on Wednesday. They said he spent Sunday at their house and his ex-girlfriend, 15-year-old Amber Wright, texted him non-stop, telling him she wanted to get back together. Detectives said the texts were part of a plan to lure Jackson to the home.
Once inside the home, Jackson was hit in the head with some kind of wooden object and was shot multiple times, according to detectives. When Jackson made an attempt to leave the house, he was tackled, held and shot again, deputies said.
According to a sheriff's office report, Jackson's body was placed in a bathtub and his knee caps were broken. His body was hog tied and then placed into a sleeping bag and then burned in a fire pit, according to deputies. Jackson's remains were shoveled into several 5-gallon paint containers and thrown into a dumpster, detectives said.
On Monday, Jackson’s parents reported him missing and thought that he may have run away, according to deputies. One of the suspects came forward to detectives after he told his mother that he had witnessed Jackson's murder.
Deputies arrested Wright, Charlie Kay Ely, 18, Michael S. Bargo, 18, Justin Soto, 20, and Kyle Hooper, 16, and charged them with first-degree murder. James Haven, 37, was also arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.
