That's true. I don't think his idiocy merits stepping down IF it's limited to this one case and he's sincerely apologized. I hope there aren't more.
But, if there are other credible accusers lining up behind this first one, I could see Franken being forced to step down.
I've heard a few Democratic leaders say recently that the difference between them and Republican leaders is that they hold offenders accountable and take action.
