i was a deputy sheriff in florida. i am no longer there, but read several florida news outlets daily for cases i am following and to keep up with what used to be my local news. and local jailbirds.
so every day without fail there are at least 3 drug-related murders in one area. EVERY DAY. and they get no attention beyond the next day's news of the next night's murders. it's a big yawnfest. it's like the weather report. in florida, it's the same every day...hot as hell, and druggie murders. anything new? hurricane coming?
in my forum here, and when i have been elsewhere, i have covered much worse cases. if there is a way to compare. horrible is horrible. but i tend to focus on childrens' cases a great deal.
or, like this one, the truly bizarre and out of the ordinary for someone who may be jaded (me).
this has captured the imagination for certain. but if they had been shot, we wouldn't still be talking about it at this point in time.

Absolutely agree. The horrific nature, and the fact that the family had to discover bodies etc. The 911 calls. lt's gripping.
I feel I'm either watching the case unfold, or witnessing LE F up the investigation. I don't know which.
I am a bit of a true crime buff. One of my favorite authors is John Douglass. I too am a bit jaded. But this case has kept me awake at night. Partly because it feels like justice is slipping away. I hope to goodness that's not true.
