Not to sound like a broken record, since I have mentioned this many times here, but the newest opiate of choice in Toledo is fentanyl. These are the pain patches typically prescribed for cancer patients (gel inside, you put the patch on and it provides relief for up to 3 days). Anyway - the addicts here open the patches up and eat that shit. It is also sold cut and sold as a powder form or a rock (looks a lot like crack) that can be smoked. Costs about $50 a hit. Comes down from the Dirty.
Of course, herion in widely popular in the area as well, mainly because it is cheap. Most of the kids who start out sneaking their parents percs or oxys end up doing heroin when the script runs out. They can't afford to buy pills on the street so they move on to H and will steal from everyone to pay for their habit.
I know someone who had a fentanyl patch prescription (for a ruptured disc) and she licked out the remains at the end of the three days. That is a powerful drug (also has lawsuits regarding it because so many have died from it).
