A Toledo Police lieutenant was arrested Wednesday night and charged with three felonies.

Lt. Frank Ramirez is charged with obstructing justice, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence. He is locked up in the Lucas County Jail and was arraigned today. A judge set his bond at $100,000. According to Toledo municipal court documents Ramirez “did participate in the coordination, planning and execution of the felonious assault of Tiffany Williams by means of a firearm.” She was allegedly shot at on December 26 in the 1300 block of Colburn Avenue.

Tiffany Williams testified in the murder trials of Samuel Williams and Cameo Pettaway, who were accused of killing Johnny Clarke and Lisa Straub in Springfield Township in January of 2011.

The documents also accused the veteran police officer of tampering with evidence. He allegedly “directed another to remove and delete evidence related to the crime and his involvement.” Detectives allegedly were able to substantiate the evidence through witness statement.

Lt. Frank Ramirez will head back to court February 19, 2015.
