What's interesting to me is that Big John's future pre-trial hearings have been deferred until September, on his request.
I still think Maytee's hearing is on the 9th. And as long as Big John is out on bail the defense will put it off as long as possible.
You're right Adub. I just checked the latest court record and it shows that Maytee's arraignment is set for March 9th -- next Monday. I don't know if there's a separate pre-trial hearing set for March 11th, or if the arraignment was moved up a couple of days (Ramirez will also be in court next on March 9th at 9:00 am).
I agree that Big John and the defense will push out the case as far as possible so long as he's out on bail. I'm just a little surprised that the prosecution and the judge agreed to 10 months lapse from the shooting til the pre-trial hearings on a felonious assault with a firearm charge. Maybe I shouldn't be.
