EVANSDALE, Iowa --- After three days of spirited searching, the volunteer search in Evansdale for two girls who went missing Friday was suspended Sunday afternoon.
Authorities said nothing substantial was found during the weekend search that brought hundreds to the area to look for Lyric Cook-Morrissey, 10, of Waterloo and her 8-year-old cousin Elizabeth Collins of Evansdale.Officials said late Sunday that no full-scale volunteer effort will be organized in Evansdale on Monday. Law enforcement will continue to search the area.
