Okay, when I say "any contact" I don't know what the fuck I meant.

I mean I think I meant that my being alone was made to feel better by pet-sitting, but bringing that into this thread would have made it sound really wierd and I didn't want anyone to make comments about that.

When I see dogs come through the drive thru window w/ their owners I just want to go give them a hug and take the dogs for a walk. I need a cat. Then I wouldn't feel so lonely. I couldn't take care of a dog in an apartment it wouldn't be fair.

Some dogs are naturally couch potatoes and make good apartment dogs, the most they require is a walk around the block once a day. Look into the different breeds, I'm sure one will fit your lifestyle. But either way they are a long term commitment.
