Makes sense, but a lot of people just vote their party and voting for who you like can be dangerous as well because who you see isn't really who they are. Just one man's opinion.

I share it. There's no way in hell that the face they put on for us is who they are. I will never believe that what you see, is what you get.

That made me think about all the pervs in DC. You know the ones, they get caught in airport bathrooms being vulgar or someone else is caught soliciting monkey sex.

But, in my opinion, you can tell some things about a person's character by paying attention not only to what they say, but also how they say it and what they don't say.

Trump, for example, is putting out a "no bullshit, tell-it-like-it-is" persona. I don't believe he means everything he says though -- some of it is for reaction and designed to elicit a certain response. He's often calculated.

Last night, I think Donald did a poor job when confronted with his multiple bankruptcies, his many donations to Democrats, his previous "very pro-choice" stance, and so on.

As for the donations, he said he donated to people like Hillary Clinton because he wanted favors from them. He wanted favors from virtually everyone, so he donated to virtually everyone. He contends everyone can be bought.

When asked what he got in return from Clinton, he had nothing really. He said he told her he wanted her to attend his 2005 wedding and, because of his donations, she was obligated to do so.



Trump did manage a jab at Clinton's charity though. He said he donated to it, but he didn't expect that donations would be spent on private jet travel. Meh.

But, the fact that he claims to have donated to politicians so they'd be beholden to him, and claims to have gotten favors in return, is not something that I think draws all of the people who were on the fence over to Donald's side. Plus, he's not provided any evidence of favors he got in return, except "wedding attendance". Really? I'm having a hard time jumping into Presidential talk.

My mood is often tied to my sports teams, and in this case, my Twins have gone into a funk since the All-Star break and so I'm a little down too.

My summer has been great, as I've been getting back into very good shape, playing golf, drinking to excess (at times) and I'm as tan as I've ever been.

It was Jeb Bush who mentioned that getting around the teachers' union is a necessity to building a high-standard educational curriculum (paraphrase).

Yes, he de-funded Planned Parenthood when he was governor of Florida, which is a major mark against him in my book. But, as far as I know, every Republican candidate favors a ban on all abortions and de-funding PP, regardless of the fact that the de-funding would deprive millions of women of quality female health services.
